I don't think that Elon is far right but obviously his desire to permit hateful and toxic content on twitter is seen as a thing of value and beneficial to the far right. What he actually believes is somewhat irrelevant if the reasonably foreseeable results of his actions are known.

The fact that Elon believes in climate change makes him a non-starter for the Republican party but they crave the ability to mislead their base through misinformation so dearly that they are willing to look past it.

IMO the issue with Elon Musk is not that he's a right-winger (he's not), it's that he spends so much time on Twitter, and due to the skewed user base and likely the accounts he follows (Silicon Valley types) he's left with the belief that the "far left" craziness is the biggest problem in the world. So now he thinks he needs to fight back against that.

Only his impression is formed by his Twitter bubble and not real-world conditions. So he's ignoring actual radical right-wing legislation getting passed in states while focusing on the weirdos posted to Libs of TikTok.

I'm guessing nothing changes at Twitter, other than their ability to monetize their product. But as long as Musk bashes the media, Twitter and he will be the darlings of everyone until at some point those everyones wake up that Twitter, like Tesla, makes billions in profits every quarter. I don't begrudge Musk his earnings, but the media seems to be handling Musk about as well as they handled Trump. St. Elon versus the evil corporate media.

I would assume losing all of their top employees would induce some sort of change at twitter, although it's hard to estimate what it would look like. We've heard from a number of great people over there that are running for the exits. Whether Elon gets the deal done or not, Twitter can't unring the bell and is going to have major attrition in the next few months.

My wife and I are self-made multi-millionaires. What more do you want from us?

Edit - and I'll add it's primarily due to combined W-2 income which is the highest taxed kind of income. That plus a steady max of 401k's and saving and investing. Still I've never paid even 30% of my income in taxes. It's true, I've never been fortunate to earn multi-millions in a single year and pay close to 50% in taxes. Can't say I have much sympathy. I wish I were in that position and didn't have to slog away at it year after year.

Edit again for drunken Friday night clarity sake - In addition to my multi 6-figure job, I manage a brokerage account, 2 401k's and 2 rental properties (zero debt).

Tax the rich.

Elizabeth Warren's estate tax proposal provided an exemption for married couples of $7 million. I hope to get over that exemption amount and pay that tax someday.
