Trump sometimes says the most outlandish stuff. Sometimes he's extremely strategic and is executing a larger plan that leverages the craziness of his words. Other times he is just bat **** crazy. This one trends pretty heavily toward BSC to me.

Disagree.

The twitter post below explains what I'm thinking better than I can. But the short story is that there is only one thing Hamas (and other radical groups) care about. It is not the loss of life or civilian suffering. It is the loss of land.

Trump understands this. The only thing he can do to (maybe) change Hamas' behaviors and attitudes is to threaten the loss of land.

A bit of a contrarian take:

There is 0 chance that what Trump suggested actually happens. There are a million reasons why it's almost impossible and also a terrible idea. Palestinians aren't going anywhere.

I think there is zero chance the US takes over Gaza and/or that other countries take significant numbers of Gaza residents. Jordan and Egypt certainly will no.
