You basically just did the thing I described above. You said that Trump doesn't really mean it when he says he wants a third term. In other words, don't believe him when he says the obviously bad thing. Just trolling!
Then you argue that the laws would not allow it. I actually agree with that, he would almost certainly be blocked. But that doesn't mean he doesn't want to try. I believe him when he says that.

JD Vance for President
Donald Trump for Vice President / Consigliere
This was the theme of the night. Democrats sat sullen-faced as President Trump described one sensible policy after another. Democrats took the 20% side of every 80/20 issue. Trump even explained the trap that Democrats were about to fall into, and they still fell into it. https://t.co/eILjJ7kmA5

True. We have a President who actually does what he says he’s going to do. This is not normal. https://t.co/vfPiIC72nA

The entire rub here is this war can't go on forever, the world seemingly wants US boots on the ground as a peace assurance because they rightfully don't trust Putin but we (thankfully) are refusing to do it.
An ugly truth is being brought to the surface - our NATO allies suck. It is one thing to complain that nobody ever really pays 2%. But now we have learned they can't raise sufficient forces between the 31 of them to secure the eastern border of a regional neighbor. That is really pathetic and demonstrates that we are not in fact partners; the US is their protector and we pay for the privilege. They do things like let us use their land for bases which provide their defense but we have to give them foreign and and do things like hire civilian locals to work the base for the privilege.

D's just don't get it...for as much as Trump is an asshat personally vast swaths of non-TDS Libs agree with his policies, etc.

When Trump was reading his lists of government waste and Soc. Sec. payments to the people over 120, you could just feel it resonating with a lot of people across the land. How much of that is factual info, I don't know. Surely less than 100%, but we live in a post-fact world now.
Yeah, from what I hear, the Social Security database is written in COBOL (1950s or 1960s programming language). COBOL defaults to a date in 1875 when a date in missing, so that erroneously generates 150 year old people in 2025. Back when COBOL was developed, those dates would have made them around 85, which was quite possible back then.sycasey said:Big C said:tequila4kapp said:From the poll:sycasey said:Yes, and the split on people who watched the speech was heavily tilted towards Republicans. Well, I seriously doubted the Social Security "facts" that he recited, but my point was that a lot of people watching at home probably bought into it. Some people still don't believe that a POTUS can just flat-out lie like that. Later the truth trickles out, but the damage has already been done.
