I had to drive 6 hours in high winds and heavy, heavy traffic to drop off some documents at a Building Department today. I sent the official PDFs of the files, but he refused to print them himself and walk 5 feet to a printer.
8 gallons of gas, a cracked windshield and a sore back later, the guy was too arrogant to come out from his cubicle to talk to me for 5 minutes.
That city has a bad reputation among architects and engineers, most won't do projects there, but I had to for a client.
4 years of going thru Planning and Building Departments and we still don't have a permit.
100 units of senior housing and a $20 million construction project for the local economy probably won't be built because of high interest rates and inflation.

This isn't about politics, it's about bureaucrats.

End of rant.
