Admittedly, I follow the NBA a lot less closely than I used to. So I was really surprised to learn that Jimmy Butler plays such a high brand of winning basketball. Good God, he's given the Warriors new life. They used to be freaking dead in the water before he arrived. And to think I rolled my eyes when they got him...

Not familiar with Playoff Jimmy? In 2023 he basically willed a mediocre Miami Heat team from the 7 seed to the Finals. That dude is a beast in the postseason.

No, I guess I wasn't paying attention. I had thought he was more of a player who just ran up numbers. I was more familiar with his attitude this season with Miami, before the trade. But better late than never for me to figure it out!

Yeah, that's the knock on Jimmy Butler, that he can get distracted and bored during the regular season and check out on a team. He basically did that earlier this year in Miami. But when he's focused and wants to win . . . you see this.

So it was a gamble by the Warriors to sign him, but one with a high upside.

GM Mike Dunleavy is looking more and more like a Genius with his draft picks and trades.

I did a search on Jack Nicholson about 6 months ago. Sounds like he's in the dementia care stage of life where he's kept very hidden from the public. There was an appearance, if I recall, at an NBA game and he was appreciated but it was low key.

Do a search and give us an update, but I'm including him in the bye bye birdie category. I'm sure the news orgs have his obituary tape ready to go, though it could be 5 - 10 more years.
