The overall deficit is basically flat but that's missing the point. Trump's tariffs flipped the script on China: our deficit with them dropped ~30%, and China is no longer our #1 deficit country for the first time in decades. Same story with the EU and others, we're importing less from adversaries and unfair traders, while U.S. exports grew faster than imports.

The early spikes? That was businesses rushing goods in before tariffs hit (classic front-loading). The Trade Deficit came out today for MARCH:

U.S. Exports in March were up 2.3% from February to $381.2 Billion in March

U.S. Exports in Mardh were 2.0% from February to $320.9 Billion in March.

That's a Trade Deficit of $60.3 Billion vs February.

PS. Imports of Cars and Car Parts rose by $3.6 Billion.
And we also imported more consumer goods and capital goods than in February.

I will be the first to tell you that I know very little about Ai.
I've been focused on Medical Diagnostics since 2008.

There's something to be said for playing to your strengths.
I've never played Baskin-Robbins 31 "flavors" in the stock market.
I don't jump from flavor to flavor.

Even at Baskin-Robbins, I still only get two flavors.
Rocky Road and Chocolate Mint Chip.

I invest in what I know.
I don't chase things that I know very little about.

I'm a big believer in the Stanley Druckenmiller method of producing wealth.
Loading up on just a couple of names that you know like the back of your hand.

I've never run a balanced or diversified portfolio.
That's not how you create wealth.

But given my age, if I can get 4% on the 2-year on that 43% cash position I would be very happy.
