I really hope that is not true. In a way it could make strategic sense from Iran's perspective. Attack the US to get the US in the war. If the US gets in maybe Russia and China do, too. They take a short term beat down but ultimately get help.

If something is in the works. it seems likely Israeli or US intelligence learned about it, which would explain Trump leaving the G7 early.
