Separation of powers?
Co-equal branches of government?
Gone.

Massey must be living in a cave.
Wake up.
The War Powers Act was last used in 1942 and not for any other "war" or military conflict ever since. Congress has literally had no say.

That's not really accurate. Congress has passed "authorizations" many times since 1942 and something similar is constitutionally required to join this war also.

When was the last time a "resolution" came out of Congress authorizing military force?
Answer: 2002
The WPA was enacted in 1973 in response to Vietnam. However, most presidents from both parties rebuff the act, including Clinton and Obama outright not complyingDiabloWags said:concordtom said:

Aside from hitting our bases in the region Iran has no choice but to respond with asymmetrical warfare. But it isn't like we created this problem with the attack - they were doing that already. See the news stories about sleeper cells, FBI arrests and one Iranian guy trying to hire someone to assassinate Trump. Also consider their nuclear program - apparently specialized needs for things like medical equipment require 20% uranium. Iran is the only non-nuke country enriching to weapons grade (60%-90%); they have hundreds of centrifuges buried hundred of feet underground below a mountain. We all know what was going on. Plain and simple, Iran is a bad actor.concordtom said:
Do y'all know the story called the Doolittle Raid, where US forces attacked mainland Japan 4 months after Pearl Harbor ?
It was a surprise which Japan didn't think possible.
Don't be surprised when Iran lashes back in unique or unknown ways.

Thank you for admitting your previous claim was wrong
Yes, I stand corrected.tequila4kapp said:The WPA was enacted in 1973 in response to Vietnam. However, most presidents from both parties rebuff the act, including Clinton and Obama outright not complyingDiabloWags said:concordtom said:

"More than 125 U.S. aircraft participated in this mission," Caine said, including the B-2 bombers, fighter jets, refueling planes and surveillance aircraft. More than 75 precision-guided weapons were used in the attack and 7 B-2's dropped a total of 12 GBU-57 MOPS.

Of course, as I told a family member last night, you'll blame Democrats when it happens. And by "you", we all know who I'm talking to here.
We are NOT more secure today.
Good job, Trump, you flocking a-hole dick head!!!
Just to be clear: Even by the optimistic telling of Pentagon officials, Iran's nuclear sites suffered "severe damage." That is pretty obviously a segue into "not destroyed," which will mean more strikes and more U.S. involvement (if destruction really is the goal).

In *literally* the same rhetorical flourish, JD Vance says that we aren't going to get into "some long drawn out thing," then says we've set the nuclear program back and are going to now work to permanently dismantle that program "over the coming years" (!!!) https://t.co/wE77g7VRBe

The BRICS have been noticeably silent about this conflict.
Moreover . . . "while both maintain bilateral strategic partnerships with Tehran, neither Russia nor China is a formal military ally, and neither is likely to provide significant military or economic aid due to their own limitations and broader strategic considerations."

Yes, it's likely that China is providing Iran with access to its BeiDou Navigation Satellite System. This is part of a broader strategic partnership between the two countries that includes military and economic cooperation. Iran is one of the few countries to have access to BeiDou, alongside Pakistan.

Given the "absence" of that Movie Guy and Bear1234, it would appear they havent received their talking points yet.
They're probably still looking for Colonel Douglas MacGregor quotes . . . and how IRAN is getting "stronger with each passing day".
Several of those countries should tread lightly because things could escalate very quickly with the US recognizing Taiwan, Ukraine getting immediate NATO membership or us backing India's claim to Kashmere (?). Not to mention taking out Iran's oil production and what that would do to China (and Iran).bearister said:
