By this time, I would hope even the staunchest Trump supporter has realized we're not there to liberate the oppressed people of Iran.

Happy Roevember!

The problem was, Dementia Don didnt know what he signed. When Iran proceeded with the terms of the MOU, he got bad press and started bombing again.

Now you know why Trump never ended the Afghanistan forever war and why this is a forever war.

High US casualties after the latest round of Iranian missile and drone attacks on local US bases.

Every death is tragic. But in no way whatsoever is has the US had 'high casualties'. This is the most sterile administration of a war ever - with an absolute aversion to boots on the ground - precisely to reduce US casualties.

3 people died in the recent missile attack. A 4th person died blowing up an unexploded Iranian drone. That brings the total to 17. @100 people were injured this week in the ballistic missile attacks. Most of them are reportedly concussions and 96% of those have returned to active duty.

Notice that Iran has not attacked Israel since the war re-started? Curious omission, don't you think? Wonder why.

Dementia Don is freaking hilarious after the left babied Biden through his presidency. Braindead Biden is still better.

430 injured according to MTG, I think the 18 KIA is a gross undercount. I guess we'll find out down the road.

The problem is that these bases are not equipped with reinforced underground bunkers, because they weren't planned against an adversary with a large arsenal of accurate missiles. The Iranians have restrained their responses to date, that would change in a more intense bombing campaign against them.

The bases in Jordan, Kuwait etc have installations with radars and THAADs that can detect and shoot down missiles in their more vulnerable early phase, as well they can be used as staging grounds for a ground invasion of Iran. The bases in Jordan would also be used to shoot down drones headed for Israel, so the latest Iranian attacks also set up future attacks on Israel.

I cannot really get into the details but I have reason to believe the KIA number is not substantially different than what is being reported.

I am not sure it is an issue of bunker fortifications. Reading between the lines the 3 most recently killed military members were likely Army troops that operate missile defense systems which - I would think (I do not actually know) - would put them outside of bunkers during an attack. From memory, 6 of the deaths were a mid air refueling accident; another was the munitions explosion I mentioned before; another was a National Guard from NY having a medical event. That is 11 of the 17...I am not sure about the remaining 6 deaths.

I think it is pretty laughable to characterize Iran as being restrained in their response. It is more accurate to say they are being pummeled and have limited capabilities to respond.

The early detection devices existed all along and they have never stopped Iran from firing at Israel before.

The early detection devices can be used to shoot down missiles in their more vulnerable stage, and are also used to issue early warnings in Israel.

Most reliable sources acknowledge that Iran has retained the great majority of its missile and drone arsenal after the 40 day war. As well there are still many rungs left over on the escalation ladder and the Iranians have been reluctant to climb them. I think for example they have been targeting military equipment rather than army barracks specifically.

Adding to the above...

According to Al Jazeera, 6 Army soldiers died in the attack on Port Shuaiba, Kuwait. I recall reading at the time they were effectively in an office setting that was protected by concrete barricades. The drone came in over those barricades and hit their building.

Another person was killed during an attack at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia. I have never seen any reporting about details.

And this puts the total number of deaths at 18 (11+7), not 17.

An arsenal can remain numerically large while its operational effectiveness is reduced if launchers, logistics, communications, and production infrastructure have been damaged. Seems like that's more likely the situation as of now.

A lot of their military infrastructure including production is underground and largely intact.

As well compared to the previous rounds, the USAF has fewer options and facilities within striking range of Iran as US bases in the GCC, Jordan, Syria have been hit and will be vulnerable. This lack of strategic depth has never happened before in wars, not even WW2. This is the first time an enemy has been able to hit targets with precision that are over 1,000mi from the frontlines.

That is so much bull***** It is an affront to their families and it potentially negatively affects benefits / recognitions the service members are eligible for.

Edit - I'm fired up about this one and have more to say. This is SO politically stupid. Does 14 vs 18 deaths materially change anything about the war? As a human and a military parent this makes me so angry. ****ing idiots.

Trump allows Saudis to start nuke program. Hunter Biden's take:

" We are supposedly at war to stop Iran from enriching the uranium we "obliterated" over a year ago.

Yesterday we signed a deal to help Saudi Arabia enrich uranium.

The first time the United States has ever helped another country enrich uranium on foreign soil.

The Saudis refused the inspection protocol 140 other countries accept. Too intrusive, they said.

Trump agreed. He signed a national security waiver to get around the rule.

The Saudis paid Kushner $100 million. They put $2 billion into his firm. They put another $6 billion into LIV Golf, which pays Trump properties to host its tournaments. They signed ten billion dollars in Trump-branded real estate deals in Jeddah and Riyadh. All in just the last few years.

But sure. My paintings."

This Saudi business casts a new light on the classified documents found at Mar a Lago after Trump I:

Jack Smith memo: Trump had classified docs shared with just 6 people, others tied to his business interests https://thehill.com/homenews/5799507-trump-classified-documents-mar-a-lago-smith-memo/

"The "FBI has also found that certain classified documents President Trump improperly retained 'would be pertinent to certain business interests.' DOJ prosecutors further assessed that these 'classified documents pertinent to his business interests' established 'a motive for retaining them," Raskin wrote…..

Without access to Volume II of the Special Counsel's final report or the investigative files, we do not know what that classified map contained, nor can we determine from this memo the relationship between the classified documents President Trump stole and their pertinence to his 'business interests,'" Raskin wrote, before referencing golf deals pursued by the Trump family.
"We do know that around the time of this flight to Bedminster, President Trump was entering into partnerships with Saudi-backed LIV Golf and state-linked real estate firm Dar al Arkan."…..

If this map is related to our military posture in the Middle East, and it was in fact shown to any foreign official, Saudi or otherwise," he wrote, "that would amount to an unforgiveable betrayal of our men and women in uniform who are currently valiantly fighting in President Trump's disastrous war against Iran."
