She would like Hegseth to visit the Lincoln and see the conditions on board. "Go visit. If you want to sit here and you want to say that Trump is taking care of the soldiers, go yourself," Conrad told MS NOW in an interview.

It isn't unusual to ration food at times when you are actively at war. It isn't unusual to extend a deployment when you are actively at war. It isn't unusual to find a few disgruntled
family members wanting their kids home when you are seeking hit pieces while we are actively at war.

Wrong. Nobody votes to have service members subjected to hardships like this.

This type of thing is not isolated this admin. There's an Army base in Colorado that could only serve Lima beans and toast for meals. There was another base in Texas that had similar horror stories. Those both occurred under Biden.

Navy deployments may be especially hard because of the tight quarters. Extended deployments may be especially hard in that branch. But generally, military members and their families understand that's part of the gig.

Trump will be signing what is essentially a "surrender" to IRAN in order to get the Strait of Hormuz open.
The offramp is coming soon. - - - Just look for the clown car.

No unconditional surrender

No nuclear deal.

In all seriousness, when you watch any Navy "life aboard a ship" clip on YouTube it looks just horrible to me. Maybe there is something with that particular branch where extended tours are particularly harsh. I don't know.

My Dad was in the Navy during WWII on a destroyer in the South Pacific. He said he deeply appreciated having an easier life than an infantryman.

My father in law served under Patton in North Africa. He told me he deeply appreciated not being in the Navy on a ship where his most likely way of dying was drowning during a sinking.

Different strokes, I guess. I'd rather take my chances on a ship. My Dad said the food was great and he loved sailing the oceans. He said kamikazes were a bit horrifying, however.

…..and I would take Army and Navy in WWII over Air Force. Could there have been anything more scary that getting shot out of the sky and free falling?

Hey, nobody in their wildest dreams ever could have imagined that Iran would dare block the Strait of Hormuz, or that it would be so easy for them to do it. I mean, when in the past half century has Iran been anything but a docile and friendly partner to the US? This was impossible to foresee.

Nope and this is an entirely different issue than the one being discussed. Mental health when confined is always a concern. This isn't anything new to warfare.

Not sure why anyone would believe yet another Trump sycophant like Chris Wright.
He's just trying to "jawbone" crude prices lower.
It's obvious.

Just 84 total vessels transited the Strait of Hormuz last week including only nine on Sunday, according to Kpler, an oil market data service that uses satellite imagery and shipping transponders to provide up-to-date crude flow information. That's down from more than 100 transits a day before the war and not nearly enough to carry the 9 million barrels per day through the strait that Wright claims has been traveling through the waterway.

"It is not possible to reconcile the disparity between what we see and what he is quoting," said Matt Smith, director of commodity research at Kpler.

On Monday, a total of 6 vessels transited the strait: 4 inbound and 2 outbound, noted Andy Lipow, president of Lipow Oil Associates. None of those ships were crude oil tankers.

Oil is getting out of the strait but the number is closer to 4 million barrels per day, according to JPMorgan.
