I recall that one of Trump's biggest supporters gave Trump a "5" on a Scale of 1 - 10 when I asked how confident they were in Trump achieving his stated objectives in Iran.

Doesn't sound like a good reason to continue to me.

Like many things, you misremember what I rated a 5, and the premise of your logic is once again false. Please do better.

My memory is exceptionally accurate.
The TRUTH will set you free.

Yeah, I still give it a 5 that he will NEGOTIATE the opening of the Strait of Hormutz AND DESTROY all of Iran's uranium and their nuclear capability. Maybe even less than a 5. Actually, I give that a 3 that we will accomplish diablo's version of Trump's objectives.

After three months, it doesn't sound like you are all that confident with your "5".
Thanks for the update!

Yes, I am able to process new information and adjust my viewpoints on things. Diablo's objectives are tough to achieve.

The Strait is not "closed" anymore, but it is also not "open" to the same degree it was before the war started. Is that fair to say?

If we are talking about the US achieving objectives in this war, then "less open Hormuz Strait" isn't really a thing to crow about.

Yep. Iran does not have a stranglehold on the strait.

4 ships passing thru vs 120 - 140 is not something that I would "crow" about.
Sounds like a "stranglehold" to me.

And it took Trump and Hegseth 6 MONTHS to get to this point?

Total Failure.

When you LIE about the U.S. Navy escorting an oil tanker thru the Strait of Hormuz.

Why would our Energy Secretary LIE about this?

Was he trying to manipulate the oil markets?

Sure. But if there are fewer ships passing through now than before the war I would not count this as a win.

Maybe you can argue that this was worth it because of some other necessary goals, but I would not tout this as an achieved goal.

I would count it as a win at this point but not an overall win to the entire situation. I also wouldn't tout this as an achieved goal but it's basically a done deal. All that's left is time.

I appreciate your level headed responses and the conversation.

Strait of Hormuz polling?
Wow, that's one helluva reach.

Harvard / Harris Poll is MASSIVELY BIASED.

FiveThirtyEight, a public opinion blog that aggregates political polls, recently ranked Harris Insights & Analytics in the bottom 50 percent of American pollsters.

Since 2017 when Trump sympathizer Mark J. Penn '76 became one of the poll's co-directors the poll has relied on leading questions. Unlike a proper survey, which asks unbiased questions in order to collect accurate and reliable information, Harvard-Harris poll questions tend to align with right-wing narratives and prompt respondents to lean toward conservative choices.
