Maybe Wags can provide everyone here with the free version of this article.

TLDR; Iran is losing.

Absolutely the conclusion I was projecting. You're missing the point. The fact the WSJ even published an article with this title would have been blasphemous even a month ago.

Agreed.

Nothing really new in this article for those that have been paying attention. Never mind the fact that Brent crude oil is at $96 a barrel. It was $71 a barrel on July 1st.

Yawn.

Great article. I thank you and Cal83 for sharing. I appreciate this as a valid counter of the repeated myopic insistence that Iran must be somehow winning because the price of oil is high. Thank you very much for the truth. It is sad how folks spam negativity because they hate the administration. The administration sucks in many ways but that doesn't mean Iran somehow has control of the Strait or whatever the next made up thing is going to be.

No regime change.
No unconditional surrender.
No control of Iran's plutonium.
Highest diesel fuel prices on record.
Yield on 10 Year Treasury Bonds highest in nearly 3 years.

SO MUCH WINNING!

This is the truth. It's sad but this is how our country is led.

cherry pck all of the "good" stuff you want, there are PLENTY of caveats and really bad outcomes that are still very much on the table laid out in this piece. What it fails to mention what the mission was, the cost of the mission and the aftermath. Basically, "hey, our screw up isn't bad bad as some might say it is" is your rally cry this point…. which is laughable and sad.

Yeah, it's telling that all these guys want to talk about is how the Hormuz Strait is not as bad as it was when Iran first closed it down. Not about how we as a nation are actually better off now than when the war started, or how we will be when it ends. Because there isn't really a good answer for that.

The goal posts have been repeatedly moved by Trump.
But they never hold him accountable.

They're too busy cheerleading the "it's not that bad" narrative while diesel prices hit RECORD HIGHS and the refining industry recorded $24.7 billion in profits in Q2, nearly 5x as much as a year earlier.

Oil tankers are "flowing freely" in the Strait.
But Brent crude oil is $96 a barrel.

The delusion is palpable.
The delusion is real.
