I tried to give several people here a second chance, but they failed to demonstrate that they're here to genuinely engage in the topic of a thread in good faith. So I put them back on ignore.

I found them doing nothing other than pedantically argue without any discussion of the actual topic. Invariably, they do nothing but post about the PEOPLE that are posting in the thread. Not about the topic. If you notice, they rarely produce an "organic" post of their own, or thread. All they are capable of is repeatedly replying.

And as you state, that comes down to character.
Honestly, I can't imagine having to "work" with people like this in the real world.

Earlier this year, I had a conversation with Sebastabear.

He wholeheartedly recommended that "anyone remotely sane get off of OT." because it had become clear to him that there were some very mentally ill people here and more than a handful of Bots and "clearly paid trolls".

I would have to agree with him.

Meanwhile, I still stand by my previous suggestion of imposing a daily post limit.
It would cut down on the "tit-for-tat" replies and force people to focus on the topic at hand.
