Don't want to distract too much from the convo, but I did a tour the other day of the SF Transit Center at the Salesforce building and the garden above it. I learned that they built a state of the art train hub underneath the bus transit center, which was a large part of the budget to build it. The tour operator blamed lack of federal money on there not being high speed trains connecting to socal.
