It's never ideal to have a President in the mental state that Trump is in, or that Biden was in, or that Reagan was in. What becomes really important is who you have around you. I disagree with where Reagan took the country (basically the wealth inequality we have today) but the people around him were competent and the country was in good hands. The people around Biden were also competent and the country was in good hands. Democrats have made more arguments about Biden's Cabinet than I ever have. Hardly a day goes by that 50 Democrats aren't *****ing about Merrick Garland following the law instead of doing what Trump's AG's have done.

Buttigieg was kind of a nothing though, which is no surprise since he wasn't even a good mayor.
