I'm surprised there's no separate thread on this, but I just saw the NYT cartoon from Thursday that many claim were anti-semitic. It of course garnered more attention after the shooting in SD yesterday.
But the cartoon, depicting Netanyahu as a seeing-eye dog for Trump, struck me as obvious political criticism of 1) Netanyahu's policies and 2) Trump being so dumb as to follow them unquestioningly. It struck me as not making any sort of statement about Jews as people, just like it's not making a statement about Americans as people.
Please walk me through this because I don't see it.dajo9 said:GBear4Life said:

I don't like Netanyahu at all, but he was clearly drawn using anti-semitic stereotypes.

And is all criticism of Isreal/Jews anti-semitic? By definition it can't be, so what for example would a cartoon aiming to criticize Netanyahu and Trump's blind loyalty to him look like that wouldn't deserve wrath?

My takeaways: Our elections are safer and the Inaugural Address was inspiring. Rod, my advice to you:

Maybe he had a good accountant that exploited loopholes to lower his tax bill
Or maybe he just had a really bad decade
All the more reason for him to show his tax returns, as every other Presidential candidate has done for decades.GBear4Life said:
