True, the response is even worse than Katrina. I'm surprised there hasn't been more controversy about this.

Over 200,000 Puerto Ricans have left the island since the Hurricanes in 2017 and the difference in the 2016 election was 70,000 votes. An estimated 250,000 to 700,000 will leave the island in the next 4 years. That is a lot of votes to overcome in states like FL, PA, NY, NJ, and MA. Of extreme interest is FL and PA which went Republican. The memory of Katrina still lingers in those communities affected and will linger with the people who have fled the territory of Puerto Rico.

Time for Republicans to ramp up those voter suppression efforts!

Trump ideology that is outside the norm of the recent Republican Party and not character based

- Trump acts like a racist
- Trump will not defend America from Russian attacks on our electoral integrity
- Trump has made our closest allies feel like America is undependable
- Trump insults the press in a manner that is antithetical to free countries
- Trump believes the Department of Justice and FBI should carry out his orders without question
- Trump and his family and his associates are using the government to enrich themselves directly, while in office
- Trump's fiscal policy means trillion dollar deficits during the "good times" (ok this is actually consistent with 40 years of Republican policy, you got me on that one)

racist???
Insults the press? Sadly, this is his most admirable quality. No president of any party should have to sit back and take a media out to destroy you. This is not antithetical to a free press. He's the president for christ sake. I most admired Obama the moments he'd fight back with condescension at moronic innuendos and claims from media reps.

None of your list relates to ideology.

I grew up with conservatives and there's always a few who are willing to move full right and embrace fascism, authoritarianism, Russian meddling, racist ideology and the whole mess we have now. Those guys would be the guys under investigation now, or already have been indicted: Manafort, Gates, Papadopoulos, Flynn and 13 Russians. Nunberg, Stone...most of Trump's staffer and a few others are on the list and will be getting theirs.

It seems the move to authoritarian and racist/sexist has only occupied the Left for a decade or so. When you acknowledge that political power inherently gravitates towards more and excessive power...it's just certain ideology's power grabs doesn't bother you as much when they are supportive of your ideology. Thank goodness for the three branches of government checks and balances system, however flawed the individuals that make up that system is. This incessant peddling of the racist and fascist narrative is tired and desperate.

It's odd that nobody has turned on Trump despite the ongoing investigations and the fact you think he is so obviously guilty.
Guilty of cheating on his wife with a porn star while while his wife was pregnant? Yes
Guilty of cheating on his wife with a Playboy bunny? Yes
Guilty of Money Laundering in connection with his real estate deals? Yes (Mueller has tax returns and bank docs)
Guilty of obstruction or conspiracy to obstruct? Yes
Guilty of collusion? We will see as Mueller is still investigating.
Guilty of nepotism? Yes. (Come on)
Guilty of sexual harassment? Yes, he admitted as much.
Guilty of violating the emolument clause? Yes. ( See Trump owned Washington D.C. hotel)
Guilty of running the country like a mafia family? Yes, queue the Godfather theme.
Guilty of Chain Migration? Yes (See wife's parents and sister)
Guilty of violating his wish for a Merit Based Immigration? Yes. (See wife's parents and sister)
Guilty of lying to a federal agent? We'll see.

I guess my answer would be, yes.

It's not that odd to stay quiet if you are a party to the conspiracy to obstruct, money laundering, illegally involved with a foreign country, have made false statements, or are finalizing a plea deal to act as a witness for the prosecution.

Have to think the OP's safe space concept has imploded. Just another thread to draw out others for liberal masterbation.

Plenty of conservative arguments get made here. There are far worse echo chambers on the Internet.

Conservatives have no position with Dotard in there. They'll sit on their hands and take the short term financial gains while looking the other way on treason, destruction of democratic institutions, fascism, authoritarianism, chaos and incompetence. Add in the Russian collaboration and a porn star (just for fun) and you have a complete cluster *****and full lemming ahead.

Conservatives aren't saying anything because they're gearing up the denial machine already.

This all relates to ideology, including the ideology of embracing democratic norms. Most countries are stuck on those ideological issues. America hasn't had to deal with many of them in our lifetimes.

They are working through the trauma of the election, and this is a platform of affirmation for them. But reaching the final stage of grief, acceptance, appears to be a far-fetched goal at this point.

Yup, we're in an echo chamber...but the GOP are in a perpetual Russkie pee party selling American democracy to a foreign enemy for the price of p i s s.

Yo conservatives and GOP, high treason isn't anything to be proud about. Selling out America is an UN-American as it gets. History will not be kind here. Perhaps we should go back to true, traditional American conservative values. Traitors like the Rosenbergs were executed...perhaps capital punish needs to be re-instituted.

It seems that rather than moving to the "acceptance" stage, Democrats have just moved towards trying to win the next round of elections.

That's an uninteresting question with an uninteresting and obvious answer. I can't recall an administration with this much turmoil and changeover. It's suggestive of mistrust and incompetence within the administration. It's not good, but the obliviousness to it by the Right and the criticism on the Left of it is purely political, 100%. In private Republicans cannot believe the sh*t show, and the opposition wants to denigrate and tear down the president because why wouldn't you?

Republican's are gluttons for punishment, that the only reason they would take a job that comes with guaranteed humiliation by the boss before he fires you by Twitter after flying back from Africa. That or they like the cute little names that the Big Cheeto gives them.

Isn't holding public office kind of a shameful job in many respects? It's a "prestigious" position in our culture no doubt, but it's also made a mockery and how do they not feel like a f'in tool 90% of the time?

I think each party tries to win every election vs a Republican. I don't think they're ever "ah you guys take that seat, I'll get it next time"
