Oakland on the verge of killing Eli's Mile High Club.

KQED: Eli's Mile High Club in Oakland Is in Danger of Closing, Owner Says

The historic North Oakland nightclub Eli's Mile High Club is in danger of closing, its owner has announced.

On Wednesday, during a small community meeting at the club, Eli's owner and operator Matthew Patane told the audience that Eli's was in immediate need of financial and legal assistance, primarily due to the City of Oakland closing its large back patio.

"The city became aware of some zoning issues about two and a half years ago," Patane said to the crowd. "Our patio was never on their radar, or they never really knew it existed."

After months of negotiating with the city, Patane said, code enforcement officers slapped the patio with a red tag in November 2024, despite the fact that fire marshals and health department officials had previously inspected and had no issue with the space.

As a result, Patane said the club has been forced to downsize employment, reduce hours and relocate show opportunities to other venues....

Assad didn't start the war in Syria, the US/NATO/Israel did. The codename for this operation is Timber Sycamore, the receipts are readily available.

Before this operation, Syria had a secular authoritarian/borderline dictatorship government that was respectful of minority rights, women's rights etc. Part of that was from Syria's heritage as a French colony. It was by no means a model of democracy, but the alternative that was being pushed in this regime change operation was clearly going to be orders of magnitude worse. That country also had a thriving economy and very little emigration (in fact they even imported labor).

Syria, along with Palestine have the oldest Christian communities in the world, in some areas which I have visited 20 years ago, they even speak Aramaic, the language of Christ. These communities are now being wiped out by the thugs funded by our taxes, along with other local religious minorities.

Who ultimately drives this, the C-A and Israel?

I guess not everyone agrees with that. I have never studied the issue.
