Maybe. But recall also the reports of a Chinese company providing targeting info to the Houthis. Plus Iranian drone capability. They could have quite sophisticated capabilities

I'm not discounting their capabilities.
But we have extremely sophisticated capabilities as well.

Air defense is not a field we're very good at, because we haven't had a real need for it, up to now, or at least up to the Ukraine war. The Russians, Chinese, N. Koreans, Iranians and even the Yemeni Houthis have invested a lot of resources building up their missile capabilities.

If the USS Truman lost a $70 million jet, it was because they were trying to save the $13 billion ship from getting hit. They were sailing in the Red Sea only minutes from being hit

Duh.

But if you think that our Air Defense isnt that good, you haven't been paying attention.
Since November of 2023, our Navy has defended against nearly 400 attacks in the Red Sea.
U.S. ships have been firing back at levels comparable to WW-2 battles. You haven't been paying attention.

Agree. Without saying too much, I may know someone who may have been aboard a ship in that region during this overarching period of Houthi attacks. The attacks - including those taken not just against us directly - are not insignificant. Re our air defenses...have we heard reports of any assets being struck?

I haven't heard of any.

Typically, a U.S. Navy destroyer is in charge of identifying and warding off drone attacks.
Such as the USS Spruance, which was assigned to the aircraft carrier, USS Abraham Lincoln.

"60 Minutes" did an informative segment on our Naval capabilities in the Red Sea back in February 2024.

15% of all global trade travels through the Red Sea.

I guess you've already forgotten about how North Korea continued to fire more Missiles
after Trump received the "Beautiful Letter" from Kim Jong Un.

This was around the same time that Trump stated that North Korea had not been launching any ballistic missiles.

"I say it again: There have been no nuclear tests. The missile tests have all been short-range. No ballistic missile tests. No long-range missiles," Trump said.

He was 100% wrong about that.
