I am not sure if the Democrats, should they manage to win back the White House in 28, would reverse the anti-China and tariff policies. Once a multibillion tax revenue stream is set up, it is very hard to undo it.

I think Brazil, Argentina, Russia are lower-cost soybean producers and there seems to be a supply glut, otherwise US producers would have found other markets besides China. But the Trump move to subsidize Argentinian exports to China through the $40 billion bailout for his buddies Milei and hedge funds investors losing on their bets on Argentina at the expense of US soy farmers is something else.
As well the policies of Trump and the Democrats before him seem to favor the big agricultural conglomerates at the expense of small farmers, who are getting wiped out.

Agreed.
And in just about every one of Trump's ridiculously stupid tariffs is the assumption that the U.S. has leverage and that there is no other possible substitution available.
Particularly in the case of SOYBEANS he couldn't be more wrong.
Brazil's soybean exports are expected to reach 102.2 million tons through end of October, surpassing annual volumes for the whole of 2024 and 2023.
The previous export record set by Brazil was 101.3 million tons in 2023.
CHINA imported 6.5 million tons from Brazil in September, representing 93% of the export total.
BRAZIL LOVES TRUMP TARIFFS ON CHINA!

Questions to you political experts who have recently posted on this thread:
What is a loose policy framework that you would characterize as "radical left", or "Marxist / socialist"?
Who among the politicians that you characterize as being "radical left" identify themselves as centrist, moderate or independent?

I'm very mixed on the issue, I know why Trump is helping Argentina, its because he doesn't want to see them back down the path of the socialists as well as have an ally in South America that hasn't sold out to China (that is a real reason). Now the 40billion bailout I was kind of ok with, but not a huge fan of selling out our cattlemen. If Congress was smart they'd put a bill out that would put country labels on beef.

Argentine beef is free-range grass-fed, non-NGO feed, a high-quality healthier premium product, so labeling the country of origin might be counterproductive for American beef.
Milei's neoliberal policies are going to force Argentina to export its cash crops and cattle to pay for its IMF multi-billion loans, which is going to price locals out of meat and wine. Argentina has always had a large class of working poor, but in the past they were always able to afford a great steak paired with the best wines of their continent, they're now going to have to switch to rice and beans and mate' tea thanks to Milei's policies.
