I was driving several hundred yards behind this incident when it occurred in 1993. It looked like someone was throwing clothing from the back of a truck based on the height of the clothes flying through the air. I shortly turned off the road well before where I saw those tossed clothes. I never gave it a second thought until I watched the news later that evening. Those clothes had people in them.
