In 1936 the trains ran on time, national pride on the rise, expansion of territory, economic recovery, and a charismatic leader making galvanizing speeches for those who chose to follow the path of greatness. What could go wrong? You refuse to see the true parallel. Not a game. Once we crossover, there is no going back. It should alarm you that so many of your astute, intelligent fellow Americans see it and have been warning you.

Yeah. Ha ha. You win. It's all a joke. Democracy is not at risk. Trump is not an authoritarian waiting to tear down what thousands have given their lives for.

Deep weeds: Feds file new charges against Democrat Congresssman Menendez. Qatar is allegedly a well-known USA operating point for the State Dept / CIA ... like routing military weapons to other elements / countries.

Why the new indictment? Is the Swamp sending a message to keep potential whistleblowers in line? It looks like encrypted app Signal (??) ain't so encrypted.

Politico: Feds add allegations of Qatari influence against indicted Sen. Bob Menendez

The troubles of New Jersey's senior senator continue to deepen.

His previous charges include "acting as an unregistered foreign agent"... kind of like ... Hunter Biden?

Funny how little interest the media had in the story about Trump disappearing a massive binder of intelligence about Russia's interference in his election. Given that all the MAGAts believe that information would exonerate Trump, why aren't they up in arms about the disappearance? This binder is the only thing that can show Trump's innocence, where is it?

From CNN:
Quote:

What was in the missing binder?
The binder contained raw intelligence the US and its NATO allies collected on Russians and Russian agents, including sources and methods that informed the US government's assessment that Russian President Vladimir Putin sought to help Trump win the 2016 election, sources tell CNN.
The intelligence was so sensitive that lawmakers and congressional aides with top secret security clearances were able to review the material only at CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia, where their work scrutinizing it was itself kept in a locked safe.

Why was the binder brought from the CIA to the White House?
The former president had ordered it brought there so he could declassify a host of documents related to the FBI's Russia investigation. Under the care of then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, the binder was scoured by aides working to redact the most sensitive information so it could be declassified and released publicly.
The Russian intelligence was just a small part of the collection of documents in the binder, described as being 10 inches thick and containing reams of information about the FBI's "Crossfire Hurricane" investigation into the 2016 Trump campaign and Russia. But the raw intelligence on Russia was among its most sensitive classified materials, and top Trump administration officials repeatedly tried to block the former president from releasing the documents.
The day before leaving office, Trump issued an order declassifying most of the binder's contents, setting off a flurry of activity in the final 48 hours of his presidency. Multiple copies of the redacted binder were created inside the White House, with plans to distribute them across Washington to Republicans in Congress and right-wing journalists.
Instead, copies initially sent out were frantically retrieved at the direction of White House lawyers demanding additional redactions. … An unredacted version of the binder containing the classified raw intelligence went missing amid the chaotic final hours of the Trump White House. The circumstances surrounding its disappearance remain shrouded in mystery.

It's easier to keep track of physical printed and numbered copies. When copy X of 23 was missing, that's when they knew there was a problem. If it was digitized, they probably wouldn't know if someone had copied it to a flash drive.

Ann Coulter: Two possible causes of the rise of gun homicides in Sweden

Europeans suspect an invisible force field that arrived at the exact same time as the migrants.

"THE GUARDIAN, Thu 30 Nov 2023, 'How gang violence took hold of Sweden':

Since 2013 the number of fatal shootings in [Sweden] has more than doubled, according to official statistics, and drug and gun crimes have steadily increased since the beginning of the 2000s. … [T]he country is now among the continent's worst when it comes to gun murders."

"...With all of Europe rushing headlong into committing suicide by importing the third world, it's hard to sort out, but maybe the graph below it has something to do with the explosion of violent crime in Sweden."

"... according to a 2018 study published in the European Journal on Criminal Policy and Research, called 'Increased Gun Violence Among Young Males in Sweden', the rise of gun homicides in Sweden, after 1,000 years of peace and quiet, seems to an invisible force field that descended into certain neighborhoods, creating unemployment, welfare dependence, car burnings, deprivation, poor school performance and "vulnerable neighborhoods" (whatever that means)."

It was a retaliatory drone strike because militias in Iraq have been attacking US forces. As military responses go, this is about as measured as can be. Conservatives would attack Biden for not responding.

In fact, he has massively reduced our drone warfare in addition to ending the forever war in Afghanistan, both of which his predecessor, the worst POTUS in history if you actually applied your standards reasonably, promised to do but never did.
