Look up reproduction stats (point of book) and you'll see that most every industrialized nation is far below the 2.1 babies per woman that creates a steady population size.
People urbanize and CHOOSE to have fewer kids.
Declining birthrate is happening even in Africa, though they are still at ~4, down from ~7.
The authors' prediction is that global population caps at 9B in 2050 and begins the decline.

There are many problems associated with a declining population, I'll skip the list, but you may want to review.

It therefore becomes a competition amongst nations to attract immigrants.

USA is a place where immigrants want to come to. This helps us be economically strong.

Russian is not. It is a declining nation-state.

Trump White House official Peter Navarro loses his bid for a new contempt of Congress trial


A federal judge on Tuesday rejected a bid for a new trial for Peter Navarro, a Trump White House official convicted of contempt of Congress for refusing to cooperate with a congressional investigation into the U.S. Capitol attack.

Navarro, who served as a White House trade adviser under President Donald Trump, was found guilty by a jury in Washington's federal court for defying a subpoena for documents and a deposition from the House Jan. 6 committee. He's scheduled to be sentenced later this month.

Navarro's lawyers argued he was entitled to a new trial, alleging that jurors may have been improperly influenced by political protesters when they took a break outside the courthouse before announcing a verdict in September.

But U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta said in his ruling that Navarro has not shown that "any prejudice resulted from the jury's eight-minute break outside the courthouse." Jurors only interacted with one another and the court officer who accompanied them, no one approached the jurors and "there were no activities resembling a 'protest,'" the judge wrote.

"Defendant not only fails to demonstrate prejudice, he has not shown that any juror was actually exposed to any improper external influence," Mehta wrote.

An attorney for Navarro declined to comment on Tuesday's ruling.

When tRump wins POTUS Redux, he is going to have to replace the jury system with tribunals that have judges appointed by him.

If he doesn't do this, he will never be able to punish and imprison his enemies, and all the national laws his Evangelicals are trying to impose (nationwide ban on abortion) will have no teeth in Blue States because a jury will never convict anyone of violating those laws.

Finally, I suppose he will have to break up all the state appellate courts and replace them because he needs a mechanism to vacate all the civil judgments for damages entered against him and his companies. He will handle his criminal convictions by pardoning himself.

The only thing that will derail all of this is if he dies. He certainly looks like he is on the verge of a massive coronary or stroke.
