Details matter. The report I saw said protesters were blockading a facility to prevent ICE vans from leaving with detainees. LEO engaged them. A Nadler staffer was overheard asking one of them to come in the office so the went in to presumably look for the protester. The staffer allegedly got belligerent and blocked access. They cuffed and detained and ultimately released her. No protesters were found in the office.

Since I travel occasionally on the government dime, I looked to see if I was in the database. Nope. There were grants and loans to people with the same name as me to the tune of $271,000. This appears to be a database of grants and loans. I will conjecture that the Senators may have been giving out grants for projects in Ukraine, but I have no proof of that.

If it is all for travel expenses, perhaps they chartered a jet or had the expenses for a military plane. I'll bet if you look into it, most congressional travel isn't done through commercial airlines. I think that is dangerous. But I am a double major in History and American Studies from Cal plus a law degree thereafter guy. "Joe 6 pack" maybe didn't take a single college course and is busting his hump in a go nowhere job trying to pay off his excessive CC debt plus keep food on the table. He doesn't especially understand or care about nuances like sources of executive authority, separation of powers, etc. He just sees a guy who says things that align with his own beliefs and interests. Sometimes it is just that simple. Now layer on the common language from Ds which don't begin to register with a lot of working class people and ... you get Trump with high favorability numbers in a 2nd term.
