My 2016 981 GT4 was based on the Boxster/Cayman platform.
So you would have been kind of "right" about my second Porsche.
It was a beautiful Sapphire Blue Metallic.

But not my current ride my 2023 992.1 GT3 Touring.

Origins of the Practice
Early Middle Ages (~8th9th century): Trial by combat (also called judicial duel) emerged in the Frankish kingdoms under Charlemagne. It spread through much of continental Europe and later reached England.
It was a way to let God "decide" the truth the victor of the fight was presumed to have divine judgment on their side.



Earliest Known Phrasing
In Latin, it was called duellum (duel) or judicium Dei ("judgment of God").
In Old French, it appeared as combat judiciaire.
In Middle English (13th14th century) translations of law texts, the literal phrase "trial by combat" began appearing as English law adopted and described the practice.



Use in England
First introduced formally into English law by William the Conqueror (1066), who imported Norman customs.
The phrase "trial by combat" became standard in English legal language by the 13th century, especially after the case of Henry de Essex (1163), who lost a judicial duel and was stripped of lands.
The practice was technically legal in England until 1819, though by the late Middle Ages it was rarely invoked.



So, while the practice itself dates back to the 8th century, the exact English phrase "trial by combat" likely became common in the 13th14th century, when French and Latin legal terms were translated into English.

When Rudy used it in encouraging the crowd to the Capitol, he was inciting fatal violence.

And now Trump wishes to give him the highest civilian award???
