50% eh?
Says who?

Have you ever read a research study in the New England Journal of Medicine?
I have.

Multitarget Stool DNA Testing for Colorectal-Cancer Screening

Next-Generation Multitarget Stool DNA Test for Colorectal Cancer Screening | New England Journal of Medicine

The head of the New England Journal of Medicine, that you linked to, says so if you watched the video you responded to.

That wasn't Marcia Angell in the video.

Dude, yes I know I watched the video. The woman talking said Marcia Angell said it.

I'm not interested in hearsay.
Please post the source of Angell's quote on reproducibility.

PS. For starters, she is not the head of the NEJM.
She resigned from her post as Editor in Chief back in 2000.

You're interested in hearsay a lot when it's posted about Trump and his administration. Solid double standard.

During Covid, Lancet published a biased or fake study to take down ivermectin.

Caught, they then crafted a study to purposefully make ivermectin fail - there were well-known protocols most doctors used prescribing the 'horse paste'. It was part of a cocktail treatment which included zinc, vitamin D, etc. And the sooner it was started, the better. (Some doctors also added steroids.)

Lancet's study eliminated all of these protocols. (If I recall correctly, ivermectin injects zinc into the cell to stop the Covid virus replication.)

Fact Check:

In fact, what Angell said in a 2009 article was that "it is simply no longer possible to believe much of the clinical research that is published," due to researchers' financial ties with pharmaceutical companies.

False.

I've made a lot of money investing in two medical diagnostic companies that have had to undergo rigorous FDA clinical studies. I probably know more about "reproducibility" issues and clinical trials on the fingernail of my pinky than anyone on this board. The plethora of X and IG posts are meaningless to me. Some here put a lot of "value" in these posts. Not me.

Not false, you support heresy about Trump regularly.

I'm not sure what your babble about how much you know has to do with this conversation. Cool you invested in them, you've mentioned this before.

Angell said the above quoted post which you said you didn't think she said. You're doubling down with something that has nothing to do with what I'm talking about. No where did I say I agree or disagree with what she's saying, just that she said it. Your knowledge on the subject has little importance to the conversation of whether she said it or not.

You seem to be more concerned with what she said as opposed to the overall point that was being made in the video that was posted regarding studies being published in scientific journals such as the NEJM that could not be replicated.

I'm not here to point out pedantic trivial points.
The overall question was whether or not scientific journals were publishing studies that were not reproducible.

Interestingly enough, Miss Angell resigned from the NEJM as Editor in Chief in June of 2000.

Thanks for the discussion.

Haven't seen anyone address Cal inking Ron Rivera to a new three-year contract worth potentially up to $1.6 Million a year. $800K base.

He has a lot of love for Cal. Landing a solid FB coach and helping secure the QB helped a bit. Go Bears.

I like the investment that Cal is making in a GM.
It's critical at this juncture for the viability of the Cal Football Program.

Yup, heard his daughter talking about his battle with Alzheimer's on the radio yesterday.
Terribly sad.

He not only grew up in the Mission, but also lived in a home at 737 Buena Vista Avenue West which was one of the homes where Jack London also lived.

Victor Willis of the Village People who recently passed away at age 74 grew up in Haight-Ashbury.

More whataboutism and deflection.
Because Trump has FAILED so many Americans.

When Trump FAILS, talk about Biden.
Wash, rinse, repeat.
So predictable.

PS. Biden's Executive Order 14026 raised the hourly minimum wage to $15 starting in 2022 for employees working on or in connection with covered federal contracts.

Definitely still waiting on Biden to get a public health insurance option up and running.

Here, let me help you understand why it never happened.

The providers (think hospitals and Healthcare systems) would have the most to lose if there was a public option. They have one of the most powerful lobbys on Capital Hill, spending over $130 million a year to protect their interests ... which means OPPOSING a public option.

The public option idea was to create a government-sponsored insurance plan to compete with commercial insurers under the Affordable Care Act. The concept, previously backed by President Barack Obama, didn't make it into the final version of the ACA due to opposition from pretty much everyone in health care.

I'm surprised you are unaware of this.
