Sorry buddy, I only scored 1000 on my SAT.
Twice.

But things have still worked out well for me.
I am terribly grateful that you are "watching" out for me.

Have a blessed day!

Very Trumpian response. Money doesn't fill all the holes of one's life.

In case you haven't figure this out yet, Trump only cares about the Top 1% like me.
He's done nothing for you or your family, except increase your costs.
Most Americans feel the same.

Alan Tonelson recent blog post: Our Economy: Illegal Alien Workers Keep Leaving, Legal Blue-Collar Worker Wages Keep Improving

"July brought yet another data month of U.S. inflation-adjusted wages statistics showing just the results expected by the Trump administration and immigration realists (like me). Specifically, the president's deportations and border security crackdown are benefiting blue-collar workers who are legally resident in the nation. "

Outside of a few months in the fall of 2001 the U.S. military has not been in the business of protecting me. At the moment they are once again making me less safe.

Your privilege is showing.

Nope

Absolutely yes. You speak from a place of privilege, we all do. Some of us just admit it and appreciate that we have it.

Oh, I have privilege. And I receive a great deal of protection from local police. But in my lifetime the U.S. military has rarely been defending me.

You feel that way because you have been safe, and the US Military has never stopped defending you. Look what happened when Biden opened the flood gates at the border and allowed millions of persons into the country, with many violent criminals among them. Maybe your daughter was not raped, or shot like Kate Steinle, but we have too many parents in mourning from just that kind of crime. Biden was our military commander in chief, and he put our daughters and others in danger by not only throwing the borders wide open, but by ordering the disbursement of these newcomers throughout our country by buses and airplanes, secretly, in the dead of night, all paid for with the taxpayers' dollars. Were he not senile, he should have been tried for treason.

It really takes all hands on deck to protect you, police, military, ATF, Border Patrol, FBI, National Guard, etc. Even having good alert neighbors is important. You need to be protected from forces of nature as well. Fire Departments, Weather forecasters, and on and on, all need to do their jobs to protect you.

Red herring. None of those were as preventable as the open borders rapists and criminals; their crimes never happen if they aren't allowed in the country.

Trump is eliminating FEMA?

Is this the same FEMA who used funds to house illegal immigrants in luxury hotels? Same FEMA whose supervisor was fired for ordering the hurricane relief team to skip over homes with Trump signs?

The U.S. military doesn't have responsibility for the border. Furthermore, there were far more murders in the 80s and 90s than any time since. You are correct. The US Military doesn't have responsibility for protecting the southern border.

However, it is a fact that the President has the right to send the US Military to the border. Presidents have sent the US Military to be deployed or stationed at the southern border repeatedly, dating back to the mid-19th century. "Troops have historically performed logistics, surveillance, and infrastructure support to assist civilian border authorities." They are limited as to what they can do by the Posse Comitatus Act." In the 19th and 20th centuries, the US Army maintained a continuous presence at the border to handle conflicts, including response to cross-border raids, including during the Mexican Revolution. Barack Obama sent 1200 National Guard troops to the border in 2010, to provide intelligence, surveillance, and support to US Customs and Border Protection. President Trump, deployed thousands of National Guard Troops to the border in both his first and second terms, to assist with monitoring and detentions. In 2023, Joe Biden deployed thousands of troops to the border to assist with logistics, monitoring, and administrative support surrounding changes to immigration policy, like the expiration of Title 42. President Trump's promises to restore fiscal order and reduce the amount of America's debt burden have been hampered by spending on the Iran war, tax cuts and tariff refunds.

U.S. debt was at $18 trillion when Trump came down that elevator and launched his presidential campaign by exhibiting a level of overt racism and cultural identity politics we haven't seen from a presidential candidate since George Wallace. Trump is a fiscal conservative. He is on the same path as other fiscal conservatives like Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush who were also fiscal conservatives and exploded the debt. You are what you do.

This glorification of fiscal conservatism is part of why we can't break free. No matter what people who campaign as fiscal conservatives and get elected by people who claim to be fiscal conservatives do to destroy our nation's finances people steadfastly claim fiscal conservatism to be a good thing. The next candidate will call themselves a fiscal conservative and get votes from the same fiscal conservative people and will continue to wreck our nation's finances. U.S. Debt Hits $40 Trillion as America's Borrowing Binge Continues

President Trump's promises to restore fiscal order and reduce the amount of America's debt burden have been hampered by spending on the Iran war, tax cuts and tariff refunds.
NYT

U.S. debt was at $18 trillion when Trump came down that elevator and launched his presidential campaign by exhibiting a level of overt racism we haven't seen from a presidential candidate since George Wallace. Everything Trump's supporters have said about Trump and debt has been proven wrong and everything Trump's opponents have said about Trump and debt and has been shown to be correct.

Correct.

Donald Trump is not a fiscal conservative.
He has failed the American people.

14% of the debt is interest alone.
Thank You President Trump!

It is the definition of insanity.

Feels like the only actual fiscal conservative president we've had in recent memory was Bill Clinton.

He was not fiscally conservative. He was fiscally liberal. Raised taxes on the rich and raised spending - protecting Medicaid spending that Republicans were trying to cut. Call him fiscally responsible if you just can't stomach admitting fiscally liberal policies are the best policies for national debt. You are what you do.

I guess I'd say he was "fiscally conservative" in the way conservatives have long claimed to be but in practice are actually not.

Yes, okay. My argument is clearly that his actions matched more of the proclaimed "fiscal conservative" ideas than what Republicans do, even if he didn't call himself that. I know he didn't campaign that way.

OMG. You didn't really say that, did you?

Did you miss Hillary Clinton's history of disparaging African-Americans in public? How about that speech she made at First Baptist Church in Selma, Alabama in 2007, where she tried to adopt a Southern Drawl or speak in Ebonics itself, "I don't feel in no ways tired. I come too far from where I started from." .

How patronizing could a politician get?

And then there was Joe Biden. I guess you missed these comments as well.

in 1977, opposing federally mandated school busing, he said that desegregation could cause his kids "to grow up in a racial jungle."

During his 2008 presidential campaign, Biden described then rival Barack Obama as "the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy."

In 2006, Biden was commenting on the growing number of Indian-Americans working in convenience stores: "You cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin' Donuts, unless you have a slight Indian accent."

In 2020, during an interview on The Breakfast Club, Biden told TV host Charlemagne the God that "If you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump, then you ain't black."

PS. By the way, Trump didn't come down by elevator to announce his campaign. He came down an escalator.

Trump was a HUGE supporter of Omorosa.
But then she only lasted a year in Trump's first term.

But now his APPROVAL RATING has PLUNGED to only 11% with African Americans.
What happened?

As Newsweek reports, despite Trump picking up 16% of the Black vote in the 2024 election, Black voters are overwhelmingly displeased with Trump, and his approval rating has dropped by 25 points since another poll from The Economist/YouGov captured voter sentiment in May.

In the most recent polling, only about 11% of Black Americans approve of what Trump is doing, while 84% disapprove, giving Trump an abysmal approval rating of -73 among that population.
