what happened last season when the then #14 ranked california golden bears played the san diego aztecs in the las vegas invitational?
cal got outhustled, failed to win the 50/50 balls, complained about the refs like candy azz soft broken down bitches & got physically abused in the paint in blowing a 14 point lead to lose decisively 72-58 with zero heart in the 2nd half...taylor & i sat courtside in the 1st row on the floor directly across from the bears bench & we could clearly see guys whining about the fouls & turning inwardly with selfish/fractured frustration/little concern for their teammates, the guys did not compete & they did not stay together
the aztecs are led by the talented duo of 6'4" 190 lbs jeremy hemsley (20.7 ppg with a lethal 60% on 3 pointers & 3 apg) & 6'4" 210 lbs trey kell (18.7 ppg & 4.7 rpg)...it is not known if uber talented 6'10" 215 lbs malik pope will play tonite or not with a tweaked knee, he's a game time decision
the 2016 aztecs are among the most physical defending teams on the west coast & head coach steve fisher is trying to play more up tempo...the bears don't gotta perfect basketball, that's not gonna happen, they just gotta compete on every ******* possession in what will most likely be a very close & physical game
sammy singer & charlie moore gotta tell their guys to remain calm when san diego state goes on a run or two, weathering the storms is part of the deal for successful basketball programs...and yeah the bears gotta have fun (the outcome of this game is not gonna wipe out poverty & famine on earth), it's fun to play in nationally televised big games... let's relax & celebrate playing basketball on a basketball court with a basketball like little kids playing with your best friends at the playground ...cal basketball's identity is all about lockdown championship d with energy/intensity, that's who we are
we're gonna find out tonite if these bears are all grown up or not
let's do this
relentlessly compete (who wants this more?)#
