The fourth day of spring practice was held Friday, under a steady downpour that was occasionally light but most of the time close to a deluge. The players did not complain, at least not audibly, and the coaches were quite happy.

“Practicing in the rain is awesome,” defensive coordinator Tim DeRuyter said after the two-hour workout in Memorial Stadium. “We don’t have that much of it here (it’s called a drought), so when we get it here, it can really challenge guys.
