I always want Stanford to lose. Stanford beating USC regularly when we couldn't was torture. The fact that USC is In the South and Stanford is in our division just gives the above some sense of rationality: it is in Cal's best interest for South teams to beat North teams (other than Cal).

It's always a bit of a crap shoot in those conditions. AR would be unstoppable in a dome. Niners on track to be one of those really bad SB teams. Doesn't mean they won't win it but hard to pretend this is one of the great niners teams.

Former Raiders fan here (from the East Bay): Try as I might, I cannot root either for or against the Niners, but it was cool the way they pulled out the game, against the predictions of all the SF Chron pundits (I wasn't expecting them to win, either.).

I was rooting for OT, just to see how much snow would build up on the field.

Surprised to see AR come up short. Where were the open receivers? I still root for Rodgers. I'm hoping he comes around on "that other stuff".

Players on both sides were dropping like flies tonight. The chances of me ever moving to Wisconsin are minimal.

Davante Adams was wide open almost every time on that first drive. I thought the Niners would have no prayer of containing him. Yet somehow they did for the rest of the game. Wild.

Yes, GB is arrogant about how playing in freezing conditions at home is such an advantage for them. It was the very thing that gave the Niners a chance to win because it resulted in a grind out low scoring game.

Looking at my Twitter feed. Not that Aaron Rodgers should care about what other people think, but so many folks who don't really comment on sports were very pleased that AR lost. He marches to the beat of his own drum, but he's marched into being the #1 sports poster boy in American popular culture for being anti-vax -- and that will never change. He made his bed.

Rodgers is 1 for 17
Marino was 0 for 17

Rodgers is more like the Atlanta Braves in the 90's and 00's: 14 straight division titles and 1 World Series win.

Of course, my favorite Rodgers stat: 0 for 4 v. SF in the playoffs.
