Super Bowl is dead to me. Hoping for snow so I can go snowboarding without lines.

If no snow, think of ANYTHING you might not normally do due to long lines/crowds: restaurants, theme parks, museums, renowned hiking trails, beach parking lots, etc.

Superbowl Sunday can be a great day.

Superbowl Sunday can be a great day.

This is what I've been doing.

Day 1 of the Divisional Rounds started at 1:30 pm. I started watching at 7: 30 pm after being out and about in L.A. without getting spoiled.

Day 2 started at noon. I began watching at 4 pm after being out in L.A. Again, I wasn't spoiled.

I started watching KC-CIn at 3:30 pm. Started watching 49ers at 7:30 pm.

It's great.

However, for the Super Bowl, I'll start watching the Big Game at 4 pm after its 3:30 pm kickoff.

My prediction: The NFL head coach who is related to a former NFL head coach will win.

Niners got beat by better players, better coaching and better fans.

Better fans? That's why rams player's wives had to beg Rams fans not to sell their tickets to 9ers fans?

Quote:

The Rams initially intended to limit ticket sales to buyers with credit card billing addresses in the Los Angeles area. That policy was lifted Monday morning after all available presale tickets were sold, but Rams players, coaches and their wives continued to plead for fan loyalty.

"If you @RamsNFL fans want to sell your tickets I'll buy them," Melissa Whitworth, the wife of Rams left tackle Andrew Whitworth, tweeted. "Just DO NOT sell them to the other team PLEASE!"

Kelly Stafford, wife of Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, wrote on Instagram that she bought "a good amount" of tickets and intended to give them away to Rams fans.

Judging from the response of 49ers' fans this week, the Rams' attempts to horde tickets may have ultimately backfired. Many 49ers fans outside Southern California asked Los Angeles-area friends or relatives for help buying tickets or scoured the pricey secondary market for the best deals they could find.

"The Bengals erased an 18-point deficit (tied for the largest comeback in AFC title game history) to beat the heavily-favored Chiefs and clinch their first Super Bowl appearance in 33 years.

Wild stat: Teams that trailed by 18 points this season were 1-115 entering Sunday. They're now 2-115."

Joe Burrow could join Joe Montana and Joe Namath as the only QBs to win an NCAA national championship and a Super Bowl.

Wild stat: Prior to Sunday, Matthew Stafford had lost 26 straight starts when trailing by 10+ points entering the fourth quarter, and the Rams had lost 14 straight under Sean McVay."

And that's a fitting end to the Jimmy G era in San Francisco.

Yeah "what if" he were a better QB? This team far exceeded expectations and I'm not quite sure why. What a weird season.

The roster as a whole is pretty great. But they need a higher-level QB to get to the next level. Jimmy G is average to above-average when healthy and he's rarely healthy.
Yup. If you buy the advanced stats, it may have been his worst game this season. His raw numbers may not have looked quite so bad but that just means that his coaches and teammates put him in a position to make plays and he ... didn't.

Quote:

Garoppolo had a CPOE (completed passes over expectation) of minus-18 on Sunday.

That means that he completed 18 percent fewer passes than was expected based on receiver separation, time to throw, scheme a whole lot of numbers and factors that the NFL keeps with its player-tracking technology.

Garoppolo was expected to complete 73 percent of his passes Sunday. He completed 55 percent.

The only two recent peers? Rookie quarterback Justin Fields in his first NFL start (minus-28 CPOE, 2021) and Nathan Peterman who is widely mocked as the worst quarterback to start a game in recent NFL history (minus-38 CPOE, 2018).

That is not the company you want to keep.

18% additional completion would translate to an extra 6 completions. That's a lot more first downs and opportunities to keep drives alive and the Rams off the field. Doesn't excuse other mistakes made by the niners but we can't just pretend like he played a decent game. I would also note that this stat takes into account opponent's play (time to throw, how close the DBs are covering, etc.).
