those surprised by "5 star" brock huard transferring to cal poly is yet another example of casual fans not fully understanding that football rankings are compiled by non qualified amateurs that have never seen in person 90%+ of the players that they rate that seldom play against each other for meaningful comparisons...it's not like basketball rankings where the top prospects play each other every summer during the aau tournament circuit with the ratings services in attendance

the one exception to the football rankings are for special teams specialists that compete against one another multiple times during the year with former nfl st players assisting with the rankings & metrics (such as punting hang time, field goals made from 40+ yards, etc.) as part of the evaluation process

I thought the fact that they drove is odd. Did Lacey and Cam fly? San Diego to Scottsdale is a haul. Presume they stopped for a good meal in Palm Springs or thereabouts.

jeff (will send you a pm with some additional details), walking all 18 holes with max's dad john homa (now divorced from max's moms) last thursday the family couldn't afford a country club so max grew up (except for a brief membership at valencia country club) playing the local public courses with his neighborhood friends including zz top lookalike caddie joe greiner

so that's why those late night car drives (they left san diego on the 6 hour journey after 8:00 pm with the trophy in the back seat) are special times to talk about dreams & life's mysterious paths (it's not cuz there are any open restaurants in the palm desert)...that's captured in the video above which is produced by max's close friend musician just mike

and i totally get that, the monster loves late nite topless (plus the roof down) car drives with the music blaring which heading toward a future we can never really see

yeah max talks about one of the coolest (happiest) moments of his life wuz just sitting in a completely empty riviera parking lot after everybody cleared out after his epic playoff victory at the la open, just him & joe soaking in the evening together while reminiscing about their childhood dreams as hood rats when attending the la open & realizing how far they've come together

a strong start to the fall season finishing 3rd in tuscon only behind nationally ranked winner #11 texas a&m & host #22 arizona, top 30 teams in the nation make the 6 five team sectionals on the road to the ncca championship at greyhawk

bears went lights out in the 2nd round led by a 4 under par 68 by aaron du and 3 under par 69s by jeewon park & sampson zheng...putters not as en fuego during the final round with the best round turned in by true freshmen nathan "crazy socks" wang with a 6 birdie 4 under par 68

this team gotta keep improving to make the 2023 ncca tournament...and then in 2024 the #1 ranked class in the nation arrives with #1 ranked eric lee

yeah the bears gotta be tree proof in their course management, no more doubles & worse...next stop is hawaii in 2 weeks

teri mckeever enabler & overseer of cal's empire of failing women's sports programs (basketball, volleyball, cross country, field hockey, golf etc.) jennifer simon-o'neil should be walked to her car next but that's not gonna happen with the con artist

only in berkeley would an outside independent legal counsel conduct an exhaustive report re: the swimming abuse allegations that accentuates in the report they were NOT ASKED to determine the knowledge of the cal athletic department (basically knowlton & simon o'neil) re: mckeever's wrongdoing

so another exhaustive report is gonna be necessary to evaluate that aspect & meanwhile the con artist will continue to collect his $1,300,000+ salary that is financed in large part by donations to the athletic department & the chancellor's discretionary fund

why is knowlton the only athletic director in the united states that hasn't tweeted in the last 18 months?

As an O'Dowd grad even that $40M number seems high, but it's a new full sized gym that seats 1200-1300 (vs the old Dragon Dome bandbox) it's super modern with 4 video boards, the gym is the schools gathering place for assemblies/worship, it's also 3 story complex with a brand new weight room and equipment, several classrooms, a new music room for band/music classes and practice, and a black box theater. They also built it in just over a year so some $ is in expediting construction

eastcoastie, 100% max homa & colin morikawa along with james hahn, michael kim & byeong hun an and shocky (my tree fort is 10 minutes away up the mountain, got vip backstage passes for the chainsmokers concert) r gonna be at the tpc all week in what is the most well attended golf tournament in the world with over 500,000 total doing the hang in north scottsdale...traffic in the hood will be crazy with also the barrett jackson car show & the super bowl going on too

attending the phoenix open is kinda a bucket list deal, sugar is not healthy but eye candy never hurt nobody

soheezy, my take is that taking out all of the music/performance/non athletic functions out of the dragons facility is that we can get a cal men's & women's basketball facility built in the parking lot north of haas for around $30,000,000 with doug goldman hopefully willing to reoffer his original $10,000,000 lead donation

martin is a spring grad & therefore will not be transferring to his new school until this summer, he got 3 years to play 2 seasons
