I'll note that these were largely sweeps and not pitchouts, though. Still it's a fair point; I'm not sure the blocking would be any better on a pitch.NVBear78 said:
Shocky,we ran wide repeatedly vs OSU particularly early in the game and were outflanked over and over. Our run blocking continues to be poor and the lack of running game hurts us in the red zone.

2024 jaydn ott rushing stats: 57 carries for 146 yards, 2.6 yards per rushShocky1 said:Shocky1 said:former starting o-lineman addison ooms dad has posted on the monster that his son addy used to lobby billy m to dial up PITCHOUTS but guess who is greatest proponent of PITCHOUTS in berkeley??Shocky1 said:
dear coach bloesch,
how r u?
i am fine
this really isn't that complicated, would you plz dial up some PITCHOUTS against oregon state next saturday??
PITCHOUTS r the quickest way to get the ball to ur rbs on the edges in wide open space...and let's be real here, outside edge defenders cannot run with jaydn & THE JET!!!! on PITCHOUTS just like inside linebackers cannot run with jack endries & corey dyches on interior streak patterns, got it?
thank you in advance for ur support of the california golden bear touchdown celebrations in the pumpkin patch end zones at memorial stadium
best regards,
shocky
https://instagr.am/p/DBW-VJGJekW
yeah that would be former bears running back coach ron gould who developed marshawn lynch, javid best, justin forsett, jj arrington, etc...while at cal gould sent 10 (TEN) runnings backs to the NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE, he got his guys PAID!!
https://www.davisenterprise.com/sports/stanford-hires-gould-as-running-backs-coach/article_27eea617-21c6-547c-baa1-c6f690377ffd.html
ron once tole me (in addition that nobody in his rb room would evah see the field until they could bench press 350 lbs to assure pass pro strength) that the PITCHOUT is the most exciting play in football not only for the tailback who gets to dial up their creativity but also for the offensive lineman that get to pull like their hair is on fire & also for the wideout who gets to deliver a violent crackback BLOCK on the edge defender...almost half of javid's billion rushing yards wuz on PITCHOUTS
unfortunately wilcox, bloesch, gilbert, thompson, toler & saffell got NO track record of putting running backs into the NFL, in fact mike said earlier this season he don't care about stats (i.e. promoting his players)...so we got jaydn ott averaging 2.9 yards per rush despite the fact that espn projected him as the #1 running back to be selected in the 2025 nfl draft...that is COACHING MALPRACTICE
these bears coaches are 100% RESPONSIBLE for the dangerous playcalling which runs our student athletes intentionally into telephone poles which is not only causing serious injuries (shocky thought javian wuz dead last year after my 165 lb bro wuz put in harm's way against washington in one of the dumbest play calls in the history of cal football) but also costing them millions of dollars
when if evah will the cal tailbacks once again be OFF TO THE ******* RACES??Nothing like Reece singing OTT-TO-GO on Saturday morning on national TV!!! pic.twitter.com/n1wp4u3cLh

cal's monster class OFFICIAL question of the day:
will the FAILING offensive staff of wilcox, gilbert, thompson, toler & saffell demand from bloesch that he dial up PITCHOUTS on the edges in wide open space this afternoon at memorial stadium to jaydn to not only protect him further intentional INJURIES but also stop costing him MILLIONS OF ******* DOLLARS in the 2025 national football league draft??
nv, these are slow developing sweeps NOT quick hitting PITCHOUTS with jaydn already in motion when he got the ball & u got ACTIONNVBear78 said:

It is very frustrating. A huge opportunity for the program has been squandered. We could be undefeated, in first place, ranked with a great shot at the CFP after the ACC Championship Game featuring a Heisman candidate but instead we are in last place and Ott, who lead the PAC-12 in rushing last year, is #260 nationally in rushing and #251 nationally in yards per carry.Shocky1 said:
https://instagr.am/p/DBeX3aHNqt3
let's be very clear about this, a pre season heisman trophy candidate who the coaching/medical staff deemed healthy to play averaged LESS than a yard a carry against a mid major defense decimated by late season injuries that resulted in them playing 2 offensive players on d
prediction: if bloesch keeps doing the same old **** & hoping for different results (which is the definition of insanity), wake forest is gonna stop all 5 of ott's 1st quarter predictable interior runs for less than 7 yards total at which point ott should selfishly just sit out the rest of the game/season & prepare for the 2025 nfl draft
a season on the brink (r wilcox, bloesch & thompson ADAPTABLE to change??)#
Coaching in the NFL at Ron's age is a lot more desirable than being a college coach. I doubt he ever coaches in college again. He's near the end of his career.Jeff82 said:
Maybe wer should hire Ron Gould as the next OC, put him in charge of play calling and the running game, and make Gilbert the passing game coordinator/QB coach. I don't know what Gould is making with the Rams, but I'm guessing maybe as OC we could pay him more than he's making as a pro running backs coach?

scholly roster math is FUN (43 in/43 out/85 schollys for 2024)#
the struggle that must be (hug/embrace COMPETITION & a curvy brunette yoga female at the #1 ranked public university in the world)#
Roster management is a crucial piece of the future of P4 athletics. New roster caps will have a substantial impact on both the competitiveness of programs but also the financial viability. Football is the big piece that must be decided IMO. Staying in a P4 conference and hoping for entry into the near certain "super league" that is likley coming is crucial. To all sports not just football. But football will be the deciding factor for entry into a new super league or obscurity. The new super league is mechanism to fund NIL and department revenues. Without being in the super league Cal sports will almost certainly be decimated.Shocky1 said:2025 scholly roster math management:Shocky1 said:new 2025 ncca scholly roster cap will be 105 (up from 85) but will also cap the total roster size including walk ons at 105...there are internal competitions going on right now by walk ons to show developmental upside to become one of those 105 players for the 2025 seasonShocky1 said:

the struggle that must be (hug/embrace COMPETITION & a curvy brunette yoga female at the #1 ranked public university in the world)#
despite the new 2025 ncca scholly roster cap of 105, the washington huskies football program despite its affluent donor base (microsoft, boeing, starbucks) is targeting a soft cap of 85 for 2025 that could potentially expand to 90 if necessary
this decision to not utilize all the available schollys is based not only upon practical player development considerations (how many players can get practice reps?) but also economics
there are a zillion new economic challenges for schools with the new scholly caps, for instance is cal baseball gonna go from 11 to the new max 34 baseball schollys in 2025 despite operating a program that is bleeding money & the initial stu gordon fundraising money nearly 100% spent??
of course the pathological liar current athletic director won't provide any financial answers/gameplan in his worthless as **** Knowlton Knows Nothing notes any more than he will give an update re: the promised practice basketball facility that he's being telling everybody including coach madsen is gonna have shovels in the ground tomorrow (not so fun fact: it's not even listed on the uc berkeley list of current capital projects)
and meanwhile lyons is asleep on pride rock during his 36 month listening tour despite working on campus for decades
financial malpractice (with a day of reckoning just around the corner, **** real??)#
