89, the monster thinks oakmont is a world top 20 course, fabulous old school architecture with the day to day fastest greens in the united states
MONSTER top 10 pennysvalnia rankings:
1) oakmont: shocky luvs all the old school semi blind t-shots & non conventional architectural features such as the 1st green falling severely away from front to back but with that being said shoski would not want to double bag loop & rake 63 sand traps for a normal twosome!!
From 122 yards on #1 at Oakmont…

He pulls out the putter 🤯

2) merion (east): the best 1st tee in golf with the clubhouse lunch patio literally a couple feet from the golfers which is complicated by the fact that the club has a strict no mulligan policy, ay caramba...don't tell nobody but ardmore avenue on the main line which bisects the course is kinda noisy & detracts a little bit from the greatness
3) lancaster: a super sleeper under the radar gem william flynn design that imaginatively works holes around the steep hillside at different angles...kinda close to several amish communities that live their lives simply without i-phones & ****
4) fox chapel: the blueblood club in pittsburgh has never had more than a foursome or two when shocky's visited, the head pro once tole me the monied members view themselves as a social club that happens to have a golf course
5) philly cricket (wissahickon): fabulous redesign of the tillinghast masterpiece by keith foster, the downhill par 4 18th hole over the creek with the clubhouse standing sentinel behind the green might be the best hole in pennsylvania
6) aronimink: the philly club's ross gem has been polished by gil hanse, never a level lie on the rolling hillside which will host the 2026 pga championship
7) lehigh: the industrial town of allentown got a terrific design that creatively uses the creek multiple times during the routing
8) stonewall (old): love the red barnyard clubhouse that can bounce wayward hooked shots on the epic par 4 18th hole back onto the green (don't ask me how shocky & slim wadie know this fact)...tom doak did both courses on property but the old is more FUN that the relentlessly difficult new course
9) acrisure stadium: most nfl stadiums are kinda sterile/soulless but acrisure right on the banks of the river with downtown pittsburgh just across the roberto clemente walking bridge is fabulous, yeah our fall gameday wuz only ****** up by the longwell/wilcox/cherrington decision to run off ice in his veins placekicker mateen bhaghani (despite shocky's reaching out to the staff tryna resolve the situation at the parent's request)
10) sheetz: these sorry azz convenience stores are the buc-ee's of pennsylvania, c+ at best grading
Oakmont is Bear Territory 💪

Good luck to our four Golden Bears competing in the 125th U.S. Open Championship this week!#GoBears pic.twitter.com/gMH7xPgV6D
yeah oakmont is deserving of every accolade & make no mistake about collin morikawa is targeting his 1st us open trophy but don't sleep on bomber with 325+ yard drives with accuracy & a fantastic pair of hands in scrambling around the greens in byeong ben an...if his back in healthy michael kim could climb the leaderboard & hopefully james hahn will make the cut and play on father's day this weekend
Would you take even par at Oakmont this week? 🤔
