Why is Knowlton not fired yet?
What do you see? You see, Failed Leadership.
For whatever it worth, of the three leadership teams that were talking to Cal Strong about coming onboard . . . Knowlton and his team were the least interested (followed by Moguluf). Knowlton seems very confident that he knows what he doing and needs no assistance.
The Chancellor's team was most receptive.
So if one hates Cal Strong . . . then one probably also trusts Knowlton's judgement

Strangely, the AD's team and Moguluf teams are the ones who are most likely to blame Cal professors, Cal alumni, and Berkeley coaches for the failures of the athletic department. They won't accept outside help because they are hyper-confident they have all the answers. Yet they are simultaneously certain that the decks are so stacked against them that they might fail (through no fault of their own, of course).
Cal Strong's position is that this crisis isn't just
manageable, but that it is
winnable . . . if we stop making excuses and start making strong decisions immediately (not weeks or months from now).
