I tuned in right around the time Wilcox was admonishing fans for throwing something on the field. What was that about??
For 60+ years, Cal students throw the cards for the card stunts as far as they can after the stunts. Tonight the students were warned and twice penalized 15 yards for it. I think it is because we switched sides for the team benches with the visitors now in front of the Cal student section.
I admit I didn't even notice this. In years past, they had always been on the other sideline near the students; I didn't realize they'd moved.
Peculiar that they'd penalize them just now after six decades of doing this.
Wait, so PAC-12 rules don't permit the home team to be on the opposite sideline?
I remember that Tennessee's home sideline was directly in front of the student section and band for about a decade and a half, from when Philip Fulmer was coaching until Derek Dooley moved us to the opposite side around 2010. We've been there ever since.
Yes. It was against Pac-12 rules. The issue was late afternoon, the team on the west side is in the shade while the students and the team on the east side are in full sun (huge temp difference) and with the sun in their eyes.

My hopes are:
1. Cal establishes the run and have 200 yards of rushing (done mostly by committee).
2. The defense holds SDSU to under 17.
3. Cal stays healthy.
4. The fans have a great time and come out again.
Party at my house if this all comes to pass

Well, this was fun! Gotta go and get some rest; gotta get up early and head to the Titans game tomorrow.
They're playing the Jets, which means… Aaron Rodgers is in town.

i didn't like the shotgun on that
I will never understand the use of the shotgun formation on short-yardage situations. Just get under center on 3rd or 4th and Inches and pound it in there.

FSU is very beatable, but not if we play like this. Hope they can work things out this week and maybe get a couple guys back.
I literally watched him miss from 40 tonight. Where are you getting those numbers?DaveT said:
Bhaghani is 3/3 for UCLA.

The announcers were OK.
Kicked it to San Leandro, Game Day pitch, typiCal, making sure we saw Wilcox yell at the fans, etc.
Off set some of the dumb things... Usually we don't even get that.

Especially with an empty backfield. Unless it's gonna be a jet sweep out of that formation, you're already one dimensional before the ball is even snapped.

Before the game, they announced that if Cal kicks a field goal of 45 yards or more, everyone would get a reward in their Chick-fil-A app. At the end of the 1st half there was the failed 62-yd field goal attempt. But in the 4th Qtr Coe nailed a 48-yd FG. A little while later they reminded us to check the Chick-fil-A app, so I opened my app and it magically appeared! I wonder if it used the location detection to determine that I was at the game?
ESPN. Must not have updated their numbers last night to include Indiana. Shows 5/6 now, no misses inside 40, one miss 40-49.Bearly Clad said:I literally watched him miss from 40 tonight. Where are you getting those numbers?DaveT said:

The thing is, play action to The Jet worked masterfully for the earlier TD. They absolutely have to bite on it.
The other thing is Fernando throws over the top and throws on the money lasers on 15- 20- 40 foot throws, but is not good on swing passes and short throws (unless rolling out, when he has to change his throwing motion). Fernando is not a great runner, but he is more than good enough to run for a first down and more. The OC needs to know his players' strengths.
4th and short our bread and butter call there should be: play action to The Jet with Fernando bootlegging with a TE drag route and Nando having the option to run for the first down or toss for the first.
The ACC Digital Network is so much better than the Pac-12 Network. I think having ESPN's years of experience in developing content fans want to see points to lack of expertise within the Pac-12 Network organization.movielover said:

I think Coe has had just one kickback returned. He barely missed some long 3 pointers, but needs to work on accuracy on short ones. Still prefer Coe over Bhaghani.DaveT said:

Uluave seems he has exactly that "slightly off" personality you want in a linebacker. Just a man who enjoys violence.movielover said:
