Checking out. Ping me when Rivera gets the job.
Can we fire the coaching staff and hire all the TV announcers?calumnus said:
Another announcing crew questioning our play calling and clock management
It was not a long kick but should have went to Coe, the whole sequence was bafflinggolden sloth said:Its still on the kicker to make that.pingpong2 said:
Feel bad for Morris for being put in this position but we deserved to miss it.

Cuz if we get it down to a 17 point game, then all we need to is score a TD, fail a 2pt conversion, score another TD, fail another 2pt conversion, and then make 2 FGs to win. 6+6+3+3 = 18 > 17. Simple Wilcoxian mathalarsuel said:
Why on earth would you play for a FG there? Cut it from 3 scores to 3 scores!?!?

I think Wilcox gets some unfair criticism at times but that last drive is beyond incompetence. Burning clock and huddling in your hurry up offense? Seriously. That was appalling.

I still remember people called me a bad fan years ago for saying we needed to lose a bunch of games to get rid of Wilcox and save our future.
I hate that I've been vindicated but what we're seeing here is a team with stage 1 cancer but refused chemo and then a year later is wondering why they're stuck in hospice care.
Oh, I agree with that. It was ridiculous by the coaching staff. That said, if the kicker is being asked to kick, its his job to make it.alarsuel said:

Or that he knows the offense is so incompetent that if we are aggressive we'll just make it worse with a turnover or a sack or something. He could be right, but he's the one who has put together a putrid offense season after season and never changes anything.eastbayyoungbear said:blungld said:

You know I wonder if whenever he sees the team playing poorly, he torpedoes the game thinking "we don't deserve to win anyway".
It's the only explanation I can have for that kind of clock management. And don't get me wrong, he's hard poor clock management before but that was something else.
Football Gods would not permit us to make that FG because they would not want to reward idiocy.golden sloth said:Oh, I agree with that. It was ridiculous by the coaching staff. That said, if the kicker is being asked to kick, its his job to make it.alarsuel said:

I'll never believe that wasn't a lie orchestrated by Wilcox/his agent/friends.ducky23 said:pingpong2 said:

When history looks back at this, it'll be Oregon who killed the program.
If they hadn't offered Wilcox, we'd never be in this situation.

Btw he'd have been fired from Oregon midseason year 1 with this type of coaching.

Really SAD <=> putting Morris in position to fail.ducky23 said:
I mean sure
But you also have a dude sitting on the bench who made two 50+ yard FGs in the last game
Anything over 40 should go to Coe
Again, it is ridiculous by the coaching staff.alarsuel said:golden sloth said:Oh, I agree with that. It was ridiculous by the coaching staff. That said, if the kicker is being asked to kick, its his job to make it.alarsuel said:

Sure, but then why trot out the 40 yards and in kicker, when the 40 yards an out kicker made 2 from distance last week and was the ACC specialist of the week?
