I am into the rivalry. how many Dodgers fans you heard refer to SF as the Gnats? it is a really really old nickname that Dodgers fans had for the Giants going back to the Brooklyn - Manhattan days.

i used to have more fun with the rivalry but a dark age has descended on the Bay Area, particularly SF. first it was those insane fights and stabbings that made me pull away a bit. But things got darker for SF with the fentanyl crisis. It's just tragic, and at this point mocking Giants fans feel too much like kicking dirt on someone's grave.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm following the Dodgers solely for their Panda Express discount.

Chapman is gone. He just grounded into a double play down two in the ninth. Playing the lowly giants appears to be a good recipe for a slumping team. Also a good warmup team for a pitcher coming back from injury. Last gigante just struck out looking to a Dodgers reliever I have never heard of. Go Dodgers!

Until the Dodgers get their pitching problems fixed, they'll be division champs and that's all. That and Roberts needs to take a vacation when the playoffs start.

with just a bit over 20 games remaining in the regular season there are 11 teams that could finish with the top spot in total wins. I've never seen a season like this.

Another thing I'm watching for is whether Ohtani can produce 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases. It's possible but he's gonna have to stay hot. That would be a first for MLB.

Last night win over the D backs was the first in Dodger franchise history with leadoff back to back to back home runs.

Even Chapman could appreciate all this.
