Could this also explain why Cal may have recently stopped selling Football and basketball jerseys on the online store? The stuff they have for sale on online is horrible and the variety sucks.

I would have to think that this was in the works for a while -- Nike even heavily tapered off their offerings this past fall, w/ virtually nothing new forthcoming since maybe mid October.

Clean. I like it very much. The only Nike products I've bought in twenty years is Cal Nike gear, and except for the Dry Fit hat, I don't love most of it.

With UA's emergence as a serious sports apparel brand and increased market share, you're going to see some great products hit the market soon. I know a couple of senior design and marketing guys who work for UA and they are not playing around.

great to hear

They used to sell an Under Armour duffel bag with a Cal logo when I was an undergrad, and that thing was made very well. I still use it to this day and it looks new!

The UA mock ups in the photos look great! They're OB (Original Bear).

Until recently, I was not a fan of UA AT ALL. They are improving rapidly. They're like Hyundai: ten years ago I'd never have owned one. Now, some of them, I'd happily drive around

Not bad at all! Like the Cal logo on front. Kinda want 'California' across the chest though.

Only thing that was always a little odd w/ UA's dark/navy blue was that it always looked a little purple-ish.

I think that's the lighting but you might be right.

I just bought a pair of UA running shoes, my first time with the brands footwear and I have been very impressed with it so far. I chose them over a pair of new balances (my typical trainer) because it was just a better fit as a mid/forefoot strike shoe, and was $20+ less than the competition. I think they have really upped their design and R&D efforts and it's showing.

I bought one of their tops for mountain biking 10 years ago. Their spandax squeezing long sleeve shirts squeezed all my fat jelly to make me appear humanoid.

I forgot I owned any UA stuff. I have a multi-panel, contoured, workout shirt (not compression) that my friends call the "magic shirt" because some how when I wear it, it looks like I lost 20 lbs and am super buff. It's getting a little worn but can't throw it away. Really great shirt.

This is a landmark deal for Mike Williams - Kudos to him for striking what seems to be the best deal Cal could get. Not up there with the top Nike schools but literally millions better than Nike gave us. This should give our AD some breathing room financially and maybe even get the faculty to back off now that they see some money rolling in. I hope we have close to the level of success after switching from Nike to UA that Steph Curry has seen!

Also, love love love the uniform mockups. So much better than the Nike stuff we were given. We should cultivate our classic brand and stick to it. Another benefit is that we aren't going to look like just another Nike branded school with our colors, we should look like Cal with just a UA logo for branding.

Thanks CB1 for inserting the image. I was tight on time as I needed to share another external fraud scheme I found impacting my employer. The Target, looks be a Cal guy :headbang. Unfortunate. A bear will need to take a bear down...

Yes - I really like what I'm seeing too. That's a man's blue! I really like deep, dark blues...

That is changing....Steph really put UA on the map:

In a note to clients yesterday (Mar. 3), Morgan Stanley predicted that Curry will unseat LeBron James, who has a hugely popular line with Nike, as the top seller of signature basketball sneakers in the US this year. If that happenedand that's a very big ifit would be a massive victory for Curry and his sponsor, Under Armour, which is only just gaining a foothold in the giant US sneaker industry.

"UA's signature Stephen Curry basketball shoe US business is already bigger than LeBron, Kobe and every other player except Michael Jordan," Morgan Stanley analysts wrote. "Curry basketball footwear sales have meaningfully accelerated over the last two months and are now trending at a $160M annual sales run rate." They measured James's Nike sneakers trending at $150 million.

We will probably have the ugliest uniforms in the Pac-12, I hope everyone likes electric gold and charcoal gray. I guess it pays well to look like clowns!

I have a couple UA gym shirts, probably 15+ years old, that remain my favorites.

Calling it as I see it, the good and not so good, but this is seemingly good for AD Williams - those APR scores, and to close the week with this comprehensive, flexible and lucrative agreement with UA. Heck, even the departure of JB was carried-out in a fashion fitting of this fine university...

That's not even remotely the plan.

Under Armour's not foisting anything on Cal. Cal Athletics and the Cal fan base call the shots on this one.

This model will be built more on the traditional ND model and won't even resemble anything remotely like Maryland's. And the Roth throwback jerseys will be back for the annual Joe Roth game.

I don't give a flying fish who the unis come from. Just give us something clean and bold. Cal Blue with California Poppy Gold (NOT yellow). The trend of multiple unis has made it difficult to surf TV channels and identify teams because you never know what they're wearing. Just give me Blue and GOLD, no white, and quit worrying if the unis are pretty. Pretty is for pompom girls.

These unis we're a jumping off point based on the individual programs' input, reflecting a desire for a traditional style. These aren't the final product.

That's the flexibility that I think is huge here, along with the scope and dollars. Kudos to AD Williams and the University.

Oh my god. calm down.

Our unis will only be ugly if we let it be ugly. If our staff, players, etc. [Cal Atx says each staff will have their own design process and will decide who gets to be involved] do not have the right vision for how we want our image to look, Under Armour will probably make it worse. UA hasn't had the quality of designers Nike and Adidas has had, and that's really want the bottom line is. Their designs in the past has been trash, but that doesn't necessarily have to stay that way. Adidas was garbage too, until about a year or two ago.

If UA really wants Cal to be the West Coast Flagship, then they need to hire or give us their best design guys to come up with not only clean throwback uniforms, but also innovative one-offs.

And for those who don't want "new" uniforms and/or "new" colors, you're sh*t out of luck, because this staff gets the need for cool stuff recruits care about. Look at the white helmet w/ the chrome grill and bear logo plastered by recruits on their trips. They're willing to experiment, and now with UA, we may actually get to implement it. As Plank said, "best way to use us is as your in-house marketing team."

Really up to Cal and UA to make it actually impressive instead of all the flexing done in this announcement about how innovative and great it is. As great as it may be for the University as a whole, on the football side, it won't mean much unless they execute the uniform and apparel well--that's what the public sees.

When you surf TV, you look at the unis to find out who is playing? Not the score that is on the screen at all times? Nor your TV's built in guide that tells you which game is being played?

So yeah, if it is only the unis, I can see your dilemma.
