Definitely can't afford to lose Saffle, he's our best DE so far ... but as he got to the sideline he looked like he was walking ok.

This is very frustrating. I'm no expert, that's for sure, but we're either very bad at fundamentals (tackling, taking angles) or we're athletically outmanned (size, speed, strength). It's probably both.
