I'd like to see tempo out of the gate. Screens, QB draws/options, quick slants/crossing routes that don't require lots of time in the pocket....try to get defense on their heels with tempo.

Agree on the tempo but no more screens. They take like 5 seconds to develop with this offense and never get anywhere.

We recruit top guys, but we can't sign them. It's tough to recruit to Berkeley, for a variety of reasons.

I wanted to see all of that since 2017.
I'm a big fan of temp used strategically no matter what the personnel deficiencies or strengths are, but especially so for limited offenses like Cal.

Everyone saw how bad Baldwin was last year. It's no secret. Wilcox hitched his wagon to Baldwin when every Bear fan wanted him fired. Wilcox deserves half of every complaint made about Baldwin.

Our defense under dykes could not do fundamental things.....like tackles. Offense right now is a line problem

Disagree. Dykes quick strike offense was a major disadvantage for the defense. However Wilcox's awesome defense is a major boon for the offense. When you factor that in, I believe the offense under Wilcox is worse than the defense under Dykes.

Game thread isn't a great place to debate Dykes vs Wilcox. But I find the arguments for Wilcox getting a pass to be very simplistic. There was a lot more to Dykes sucking than his choice of Buh. There's a lot more that Wilcox has going for him than just the defense. People need to give a little more credit that holistically there's much more to look at.

That's not why. Nor is it a logical one.

If a person held Dykes responsible for the defense and hiring Buh, the same applies to Wilcox and Baldwin.

It's entirely logical. Dykes' record was worse than Wilcox's to this point. That's why he was more disliked.

If Wilcox posts more losing seasons the same will happen to him.
Stop it. If Wilcox accomplishes what Dykes did in his year 3 (8 wins and #1 QB) Wilcox will get a 22 year contract extension and about 13 years of equity with fans smh.

Nobody was thinking about year 1 when Cal was top 25 and 5-0 in 2015

He would probably get an extension and more goodwill. That would dry up if the winning stopped, same as for Tedford.
