Needed pressure. Slip was bad but if he gets time to get the guys downfield and toss it up to them they'll make plenty of plays.
It's as if we shuffle off our real defense on third and long and put in a bunch of guys from the stands.

True. On the other hand, that doesn't explain why Hicks ended up on his butt.
We are going to needs Hicks to come up big in the second half to win this game. We need him to keep his head up and get back after it
