I agree on recruiting, but Cal has had several QBs better than Slovis - at least so far.

It's almost like we don't pay for good coaches while everyone else competing at this level (power 5 conferences) does.


Well, we always extend the last coach before we fire him, so we end up paying for two coaches at a time.

Cal is smart at a lot of things. Managing a football program is not one of them.

How many time per game does Baldwin call a downfield passin play covering at least 25 yards in the air?
2 or 3 times?
That's not football.
That's choking the air out of our offense.
And it gets boring and predictable rather quickly.

Are you kidding? Modster has aired it out a few times already, including twice on one drive! However, he is not accurate and our receivers can't catch!

This game made is very obvious to me that play calling is not the problem. Execution is. To the extent that execution is a result of preparation and talent it is on Wilcox and Baldwin (and DeRuyter), but play calling is NOT what is holding us back.

I'm just glad we weren't aggressive and thus didn't try and do anything with our last possession of the first half at midfield with three times out... because god forbid that could have turned out poorly and really turned the game.
