There's a lot of needless anger on this board. I am almost 60 years old. Since I was born SC has beaten Cal like a drum in all but a very few seasons. Don't invest yourselves in these games. When Cal wins it's fantastic. When they lose to SC it's expected by everyone of us that has a brain. Tonight unfortunately was worse than normal. If they win big game this has been the best season in years. We're in the middle of the longest big game losing streak ever. Cal can still win that game as long as Stanford still has a lot of injuries and they seem to.

The team has quit on Wilcox.

Time for a regime change
I'm pretty sure the team didn't call for that punt down 24 in the 4th quarter, if you know what i mean...

The program needs get to a 6th win next week against FURD - the extra 3-4 weeks of practice is necessary to develop the '19 class guys for next year.

Speaking of next year - OL will be better, QB will be better, RB will be better, WR/TE won't be worse

Garbers still smiling on the sideline with a towel on his head. What would Saban say?

The Wilcox/Baldwin era has made football a chore and no fun at all for their offensive personnel. To them, the offense exists in order to give the defense a rest. No quick scoring offense that can excite a team and their players.

If BB stays, 3-4 MONTHS of extra practice won't make anyone on O better.

Everything will look better with a new OC. Otherwise the extra practice time might actually hurt the team.

Collins is one of the only bright spots in this game.

Collins looked great at CCSF, I could not understand why we did not find a way to incorporate him into our offense. It should not have taken an injury to Brown.

Staff told him he's done. what's he supposed to do sit on the bench and sulk?

He was injured all season - just got healthy a couple weeks ago.

I'm REALLY late to the party.....just a few questions:

1. Is Chase going to able to play in the foreseeable future?
2. Has BB been fired yet?
3. Have any $C players been arrested?

Are you new to Cal football ?

BB is Cal's OC and evaluator of talent.

Why is it that more often than not Cal special teams sucks? Even when our teams have been good special teams has been an issue.

The defensive drop off will be approximately equal to the offensive improvements. For example, who is going to play safety? Even now, we can't defend the pass or make open field tackles and that is with 2 senior safeties. We also lose Weaver, who makes a ton of tackles because most of our other defenders are either out of position, too slow or too unwilling to seek contact. We also lose our best nickel back in Treaveon Beck. Replacing these guys won't be easy.

Humphries will be eligible from Penn State next year and looks like a really nice Safety.

When you recruit 3* type talent you can be pretty good with superior coaching. Those teams will run into buzz saws when they face competently coached teams that recruit 4* and 5* players. That's what is happening tonight against USC. Our coaching on offense just isn't good enough to maximize every ounce of 3* star talent we have, as happens on the D side of the ball.

USC with only 52 rushing yards... but why rush if you can throw 29/35 for 400+ yards?

I stand corrected-Humphries and Smith will start. And if you think they can play every down in 2020, we should have no problem.

Never said we'd be as good at Safety but you asked who would play - Humphries will be good. Maybe they'll get another transfer or Juco guy to add some depth. Guessing one of the '19 CBs switches to Safety as well

True, but going in both team had 4 losses. The result was quite unexpected. Even if USC was expected to win, I don't think anyone expected this to be a laugher like it was. On top of it, Garbers and Brown are out again. This was a real low point and not just because of the result. Cal went on top 7-0 and from there we were just killed. This USC team has only one conference title in a decade. It's not the USC of old. They were playing with a lightly recruited freshman QB under center. Their defense gave up 56 to Oregon. Cal really laid an egg.

Ok let's get that seat warmed up for Wilcox. He is doing nothing to take this program beyond 5-6 wins a season.

Strange comment considering he has already won 7 games in a season.
When will the day come where 7 wins and a losing conference record is seen as unequivocally bad.
That was 2007, you missed it.

Maybe Weaver was right about Cal. No heart. Roll over and die at the first setback year in year out.

Actually Woodson can provide some depth. Yeah, if we land a decent JC transfer at safety I'll change my tune. Actually I'm glad to see David go. He is completely over-rated as far as I'm concerned.
