Are you suggesting Looney having a case of "the vapors" and playing limited time was a strategy move to plant a sticky sock bomb on the Laker's game plan treads?

I wondered how real that illness was. Maybe they realized that if the Warriors go big and the lakers go big, the lakers win!

Lebron + AD will beat Dray + Loon 10 out of 10 times in 2 v 2. Neither of the later can score. And both of the former are bigger.

My Laker fan buddy claims that one of the advantages his team has is that on defense they are basically putting 5 defenders on 4 Warriors and ignoring Draymond. If true, I hope Dray makes his put backs tonight.

It was worse with both Loon and Dray on at same time. The lakers were play a two man box in the lane with 3 guards face guarding the W's shooters. Lane clogged, no layups in game 1.

Let's face it, the Warriors have been a flawed team all year long. They deserve whatever they've got coming to them.

But, lol, back to the flower… you sicko misogynist!

Sicko? Hey, badge of honor, but misogynist?!? How did you come up with that one?

Uh, massive hyperbole???

I'm sorry.
We previously went thru the whole "the flower is to celebrate women getting the vote" thing, and you were supposed to (in my mind) say, "oh yeah, I now support the flower uniform, too!"
But you don't, and so that makes you, in my inappropriate ribbing humor, a sicko misogynist.

Thank you for enduring my poor attempts at online banter.

(Remember, I have 5 daughters and so instinctively stand up for all things women. Especially, like, if an attractive woman enters the room, I stand up in silent salute!)

My problem with the black unis, the flower and the nod to women's suffrage is...

WTH does it have to do with GSW basketball?!? But I only have one daughter, so what would I know...

I am just generally opposed to teams having a bunch of mix-and-match color combinations. Makes it too hard to tell which team is which. Warriors should stick with blue and yellow as the main colors, not black.

I'm getting concerned about you guys and your uni color fetish. Is this an offshoot of the drapes/carpet thing?

What's the drapes carpets thing? I missed that one?

Kerr with some brilliant adjustments tonight.

First, he's strictly playing one big with 4 shooters (no gp2, no kuminga). We will get back to why this is absolutely key later.

Second, they are involving AD in every single action. If you let AD just camp in the paint, he's the best defender in the league. If you get him out on the perimeter, he's the lakers worst defender.

Here are the different actions they are running right at AD.

- Kerr is absolutely spamming the curry/draymond high PnR. If AD plays drop, curry will have a wide open look. If AD switches, curry will simply drive past him and there's no AD to protect the rim. If AD traps, green has a 4 on 3 with the middle conpletely wide open because there are shooters all around the perimeter (no looney mucking up the middle). On the 4 on 3, green can read the defense and either kick out to a wide open Jgreen or have a wide open layup and or easy pass to the dunker position.

When they aren't running pick and roll, they are having draymond start with the ball at the top. When AD drops, they run easy handoffs to curry for wide open looks.

When they aren't doing any of the above, whoever AD is guarding is setting an offball screen, forcing AD to try to switch off to a shooter (usually Klay)

I have watched a lot of warriors basketball. I have never seen Kerr attack a big as relentlessly as I saw tonight. Almost every single action was run right at AD and he couldn't guard it…at all. I've never seen so many wide open looks in a playoff game.

Further, making AD run around and play defense on the perimeter also tires him out which makes him less effective on the offensive end.

I don't see the adjustment the Lakers can make. They could possibly just switch the PnR and let AD guard Steph 1 on 1 and take your chances. AD could hedge, but he hasnt been fast enough to recover when curry outlets to green. Or you can have AD trap harder and make things more difficult when green is playing 4 on 3. But all of these strategies are just praying the warriors are going to just miss open looks (which is possible)

But Kerr has made clear, they aren't going to allow AD to camp in the paint. They just aren't. If that means spamming the curry PnR (something they never do) or if it means playing Jgreen, it is what it is. They simply aren't going to allow AD play defense in the paint.

You're going to hear the talking heads say the lakers just didn't play hard and that's why they lost by 30. Sure, there's some of that. But the biggest reason for the blowout is spamming the curry PnR and making AD guard in space.

If the lakers don't find a solution, I don't see how the lakers win this series.

Great analysis!
But what do you think of the black uniforms with the white rose as a symbol for women's rights?

seems he should be able to hit an uncontested shot from the elbow pretty consistently

I only know about colors as they relate to sports uniforms. Here are some truths:

1. blue and gold good (obvious reason)
2. red bad (obvious)
3. teams/schools have colors and their sports uniforms should be in those colors
4. white can figure in as a tertiary color, especially for road football jerseys, home basketball and baseball unis
5. black can now, sometimes, figure in as a tertiary color, but not in the instances mentioned in #4
6. road baseball unis should be gray (MLB... don't care about the rest)
7. no justification is good enough to have a giant flower on the front of an NBA uniform, regardless of color
8. bearister and concordtom are fun to mess with because they can dish it out and also take it w/o their flowers wilting

This might be Looney's worst game of the year. He's playing like he's stuck in molasses.
