How long do you want to ignore this user?

Cal starts on the floor. That's good right?!! And who is the line up? Jordan Kane or Andi Li?

Andi looked real good on Sunday. Jordan has been steady all year.

Beam/floor is my preference because those are Cal's two best events, but this isn't too far behind. Floor Cal should have an early lead that hopefully will give them enough buffer that forces other teams to chase.

It may not be good if the judges are holding back scores so they have room to reward later gymnasts. Floor is then followed by vault - which has been inconsistent and could be an overall lower scoring rotation for everyone. Cal could easily be in third at the midpoint. But, Cal can make up lots of points on bars and beams.

But, all four schools are performing well right now. It should be a very tight meet. But at least Cal is fighting for one of two spots - whereas in the other semi, three schools are fighting for one spot. Barring a completely uncharacteristic collapse by Oklahoma.

Good distributor and shooter. Not that shifty and not sure he will be able to drive on ACC defenses (looks like he can finish but those are high difficulty shots and he doesn't look overly quick or athletic)

Would be a solid get for our starting PG

As feared, the floor score are lower than usual. But Cal just needs to finish top two. That said,
49.4125 to put Cal in lead. Only two 9.9 and no 9.5

Stanford recovered and dropped their fall. Arkansas had poor beam.

Cal starts on Floor and will be in first place after first rotation! 49.4125.

6 judges, 4 middle ones are averaged .... probably won't see too many high 9.9s.

Vault next!

Go Bears!

It would be great if Cal can match LSU on vsukt.

It appears that the athletes are being deliberate and are trying not to make any major mistakes. This is probably why so few scores of 9.9 or higher.

Jayden Silvers fell on the vault but all of the other scores at 9.85 to 9.90.

LSU performed well on the uneven bars and takes over the lead from Cal. Bears have their best two potential events left in the uneven bars and the balance beam. GO BEARS!

Ella with the big stick! Saves the vault rotation that was solid until Jayden Silvers fell.

Cal beat LSU score! But Stanford hanging around recovering on bar after first gymnast fell.

LSU with big bars score (3 9.9 or better) and takes the lead and they still have floor to perform. Cal just needs to stay in second

Arkansas will not be a factor. It's a 3 team race for the top 2 spots. Cal is in a good spot as the top 2 have some space.

Dont want to tempt things, but 9.9 9..9 9125 to start on bars

Stanford not yet hitting their floor routines

LSU and Cal pulling away after 3 rotations. Cal gotta stick 5 routines on beam. Go Bears!

Cal tears it up on uneven bars but LSU scores slightly higher on balance beam. The Tigers had one of the best balance beam performances that I've seen. Fortunately, Bears will advance if they end up in second place.
GO BEARS!

LSU hige 49.5875 on beam.
Cal beat LSU score on vault with 49.525
Arkansas had good vault
Stanford with good 49.2875 floor which is less than Cal score.
LSU in lead heading to floor so may be tough to catch

Solid beams should get Cal to finals but … cal has faltered on beam before

Note: Cal floor was 49.4125.
Cal has bettered LSU on vault and bars.

wonder how much they look up at the scores. I haven't done math but 5 sticks at 9.85+, Stanford would have to near perfect 5 routines to overcome the lead.

Stanford finishes on vault so we will know their scores early.

two difficult apparatuses .. beam and vault.

those early vaults did Stanford in.
ncbears

Perrea wobble but solid 49.4125.
Cal ends with 197.7125
LSU crushes floor and over 198 before final score

LSU floor was 49.725!!!! 9.9375 was lowest score they counted.
But Saturday everyone starts fresh

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Was Cal's floor that weak based on difficulty? Or disadvantage to do that element first and scoring crept higher as events went on?
Schroeder71
How long do you want to ignore this user?
LSU had all five scores that count of 9.9375 or better on floor exercise. Wow! Cal did well to finish second and advance. GO BEARS!

yeah a couple of underscores on Floor. But LSU was lights out and crossed that 198 threshold. In order for Cal to win they will have bring it and shoot for that 198.

Damn anyway Memorial Stadium can broadcast the National meet? 1 p.m. We are gonna go to the Cal football Spring showcase at 2:30. Ugh.

They should broadcast in Haas and have it free

I just emailed Knowlton with the suggestion to open up Haas for free and to publicize to all students (and donors).
And if Haas were not available, Cal should broadcast at Memorial
We will see if Knowlton (or his staff) even look at the email.
