The Soviets did not fund the Nazis. Ironically, US and NATO did nurture Nazi elements from Ukraine that survived WW2 and became the backbone of the nationalist Ukrainian movement, as a tool to counter and destabilize the USSR first and Russia after 1990.

The jihadis in Syria were funded by US allies in a grand regime change project with a budget in the tens of billions - Operation Timber Sycamore, the latest entry in a long list of regime change operations.

The Putin shills / US haters are willfully blind to all international interference by Russia. It's even worse than that. When Russia does it, they break out their faux "realism" and sympathy for Putin's interests. When the US does it, it's bad imperialism and US interests don't matter.

It feels pretty early to draw any conclusions about the attack. You obviously can't take anything Putin or Russia takes at face value.

Based on what they are currently claiming (well, there are a number of conflicting claims, so you have to be generous in interpreting anything) this was a quite amateurish attempt by Ukrainian intel to massacre civilians and blame it on ISIS. We have seen amateurish actions by Ukraine, so it's plausible but this one seems particularly callous and dumb. Very unclear to me what Ukraine gains by killing a bunch of random people in Moscow. I mean, ffs, it didn't work out well for Hamas (which Russia was involved in of course).

Russia has done false flag attacks before - famously the 1999 apartment bombings he used to trigger the second chechen war. Putin hasn't changed so it's entirely possible that's what happened here. There are quite a few reasons to believe it could have happened - Russian support for the war is flagging, his re-election didn't go as well as he had hoped (ignoring the obviously fake voting that was reported), and he has to do a mobilization soon. Putin has been threatening an escalation for a while but didn't really have any good reason to do so and it's obvious he wants to absolutely devastate Ukraine since the whole make believe liberation angle has obviously outlived its usefulness. But if this was a false flag it was an absolutely amateurish one. I mean, it's certainly not one that makes Russia or Putin look good or strong. A few dudes walk into a concert hall, kill a bunch of people and walk away clean. And then hours later get picked up and tortured? That's not exactly going to have people singing Putin's praises.

Third option is that this is actually ISIS or some other group of religious extremists. Plenty of reason to be skeptical of this one as well. There have been some ISIS attacks on Russia lately so it's not something you can rule out, but this doesn't quite feel like normal Islamic terroristm.

I think the most striking comparison is probably the 10/7 Hamas attack on the music festival. Even down to credible intelligence warnings (the US even publicly warned US citizens that this could be happening).

Unfortunately given that Russia is a corrupt kleptocracy, we may never confidently know what really happened. Hopefully whoever is behind this, doesn't do it again. Either way, Russia will continue to wreck Ukraine and will probably continue to use this tragedy as motivation/inspiration/excuse to kill Ukrainian civilians and continue/escalate their devastation of Ukraine.
I found myself nodding in agreement with your post, Unit2!

BUT, only after I replaced Putin / Russia with Biden / Neocons / U.S.

The NeoCons & U.S. corporate media always seem to think that sanctions and attacks on other nations & people weaken the targeted nation's leader. But that almost never works, and it certainly isn't working in Russia.

Since the Russian victory in taking the fortified Avdiivka, and because of the withholding of military aid to Ukraine in Congress, Ukraine has increased their missile & drone attacks inside Russia, and other NATO allies, like Macron's France & a few generals in Germany have been offering to engage in various actions to stay on the attack, and bring the war to Russia -- rather than sitting idly by & watching Russia acquire more territory in Ukraine.

In this context, it's difficult to imagine that the concert attack wasn't connected to Ukraine / NATO / U.S. First came Victoria Nuland's speech earlier this month, referring to some "surprises" in Russia. Then came the warnings from the U.S. State Dept. This is why I posted the 2015 Guardian article on the alliance between ISIS & the U.S. in Syria, cooperating -- against Russia -- in an effort to do 'regime change' against Bashar al-Assad. Yes, ISIS claimed credit for Friday's terror attack in Moscow. But it's not difficult to connect the dots back to the U.S./NATO/NeoCons, who are desperate to not only double down, but to escalate & provoke a nuclear war with Russia. Outside the U.S. and Europe, I don't think there's any doubt about who is ultimately responsible. This is pretty similar to the Nordstream sabotage in September 2022.

Ukraine / NATO attacks on Russian territory & infrastructure, along with the 'ISIS' terrorist concert attack, only strengthen Putin & Russia's resolve, and increase the support within Russia to fight the U.S./NATO aggression.

You have to remember that since the 2008 Bucharest Summit, the U.S. made the case that Ukraine's membership in NATO was for the people of Ukraine to decide, AND that their membership in NATO was of no concern to Russia's security or survival. Of course, Putin & Russians knew that this was hogwash, and that the U.S. & NATO are a direct threat to Russia. [That's because they can read all the information that shows that the U.S. is NOT a benign hegemon; it is, and has been for decades, a ruthless and aggressively expanding superpower.]

These attacks on Russian infrastructure and the Russian population only serve to consolidate support for Putin & the war. They understand -- as they have from the beginning -- that this is, and always has been, a fight for Russia's survival. This makes the pacifists in Russia look painfully naive, and it exposes the small minority of U.S.-funded Navalny supporters as traitors to Russia who care vert little about ordinary Russians after Putin's ouster.

To the NeoCon supporters whose fantasies of regime change in Russia we're currently indulging, my question has been a simple one: How do you remove Putin from power without provoking or starting a nuclear war?

When nations are attacked, and their safety & survival are threatened, they rally around their leader. IF the NeoCons' intention was to destabilize Russian society or to put Putin's leadership in doubt by increasing missile attacks and ordering terror attacks, they're sadly mistaken, just like they were with the Russian sanctions (...and the Venezuelan sanctions, and the Cuban sanctions, and the Iranian sanctions, etc., etc., etc.).

These U.S./Ukraine/NATO attacks on Russia are proving that Putin's propaganda has been correct all along.

Many Russians still remember the horrific 1990s, when they lost the Cold War, the Soviet Union collapsed, and the U.S./IMF/G7/"Chicago Boys" rammed Neoliberal / laissez faire economics ("Shock Doctrine") down their collective throat. Millions of people died in the chaos that ensued, as organized crime filled the power vacuum, and the leading causes of death were suicide, alcohol poisoning, homicide, accidental deaths, and cardiovascular disease.

The people of Russia are resolved to win against what is now clear for all to see: naked U.S. imperial aggression & desire for regime change, without regard for the cost -- in terms of US Dollars, or lives.

Yogi, I'm going to break my usual policy of ignoring you just to clarify on one point:

I am opposed to the US government's continued funding of Israel, as long as the Netanyahu government continues to ignore any of our recommendations on stopping West Bank settlements, finding a two-state solution, or how to conduct the war in Gaza. I prefer Biden to Trump (who definitely would not do anything to help Palestine, by the way), but that doesn't mean I agree with everything Biden does. I have also already said as much here, so this "hypocrisy" charge just falls flat with me.

I don't put much stock in this stuff any more than I do the baseless conspiracy theories that Russian shills are undoubtedly parroting on BI.

I tend to think this is most likely what people think it is - an ISIS attack as a result of decades of Russian attacks on Islamic people.

Putin will continue to spout his firehose of falsehoods, but it's tough for him when even his corrupt puppet allies are disproving his narratives. WIll Lukashenko find himself on the wrong side of a window soon?

The simplest and most obvious answers are usually the most correct answers. Like you, I think the simplest answer is that ISIS found an opportunity to make headlines again, get publicity, and commit terror against a country they believe as an enemy to their world domination vision..

And so forth. Given the insane screed above, is it any wonder cbbass1 was the last guy to acknowledge that Russia had actually invaded Ukraine? Like, even as the tanks were rolling in he was still claiming that Putin wasn't going to invade. Hasn't shown any more humility on this topic since. The only people I can think of off-hand that think they can kill hundreds of civilians without worrying about getting caught because there won't be any repercussions are Putin and the IDF. Ironically, they're not even stupid!

I have no doubt that our CIA operatives are amazingly talented and extremely well-trained.

But in Ukraine, they're stuck between a rock and a hard place. Ukraine has lost its war against Russia, they're out of capable & willing soldiers, they're out of ammo, and they're reduced to passing the hat in Europe, trying to get a few French troops to stretch the fighting out for a few more days.

I'm pretty sure that before October 7th, it would've been easier to find actual ISIS terrorists who were willing to give their lives to conduct a terror attack in Russia on behalf of the CIA/U.S. But now, the Muslim world is aghast at Israel's genocide and OUR support of it.

Needless to say, getting ANY cooperation from Islamic Jihadists anywhere in the world is a pretty tall order these days.

The NeoCons are desperate to get a separate $60 Billion Ukrainian aid bill passed, but there are still enough GOP Senate votes to block it. But even if the bill passes, it'll be way too late to get the 155mm artillery rounds delivered, because Israel still has top priority.

The only people I can think of off-hand that think they can kill hundreds of civilians without worrying about getting caught because there won't be any repercussions are Putin and the IDF. Ironically, they're not even stupid!
IF the attackers were smart, they wouldn't post a picture of obviously fake Islamic terrorists, faces blurred, doing an obviously fake Shahadah. During Ramadan. No one with half a brain can believe that ISIS-K did this attack on their own. But that's the U.S./NATO/Ukraine back story, and they're sticking to it.

IF this was a C-A-directed operation, they would use different burner phones for each phase of the operation. But these guys all used their regular personal phones. They used a Telegram Group for their communications.

This looks more like Ukrainian Intelligence acting on their own, without the U.S./C-A's restraining influence (because we've effectively abandoned Ukraine). Ukraine is desperate. Everything that they're doing, at this point, is an act of desperation.

Again, the Ukrainians are blindly following the U.S. idea that terror attacks and direct attacks inside Russia will destabilize Russia and weaken Putin. But obviously, the attacks are having the opposite affect. Putin just won 87% of the vote, with 77% of all eligible voters participating. (The record voter turnout in the U.S. in 2020 was 66%.)

It's only the followers of U.S. & European propaganda who believe the ISIS-K story -- without evidence. Russia has all the phones, all the communications, and all the evidence.

One thing that's been typical of the independent Ukrainian attacks is that no one seems to ask the question, "How will Russia respond to this?" When Ukraine bombed the Kerch Bridge, Putin said, "No more Mr. Nice Guy," and he stopped Ukraine's grain shipments from Odessa. Before that, he had allowed Ukraine to make their grain shipments unmolested.

Putin will be responding by continuing to wreck Ukraine, as John Mearsheimer predicted 10 years ago.

Ukraine is out of Patriot missiles, so there's nothing they can do to stop Russia's drones and missiles. Any collection of Ukrainian troops -- or French troops, or British troops -- will be wiped out, before they even get to the battlefield.

Unfortunately, our backing of Ukraine, and our allowing Zelenskyy to attack Russia directly and to kill Russian civilians in terrorist acts, opens the possibility that Russia -- IF it chooses to escalate -- could attack France or England or the U.S. directly. That's why Putin is reminding the world that they have nuclear weapons, and that they'll use them to defend their own security and ensure their own survival.

Again -- U.S./EU propaganda is designed to "Manufacture Consent", and encourage you to pay unlimited $Billions to expand the U.S. Empire. And it does all this without its readers realizing that they're being propagandized. That's why I said, at the beginning of this war, "Believe very little of what you hear."

This U.S. NeoCon adventure in Ukraine will prove to be the undoing of the NeoCons, and of NATO. The only way for the U.S. to survive is to drop these foreign policy sociopaths like a hot rock.

Nordstream was high profile, and the Biden / Obama / HRC intent didn't ultimately care about exposure.

- Biden said he would end it, very publicly
- so have other Biden / Obama foot soldiers
- bombing NS2 pipelines was technically difficult & dangerous, few have the capability
- who gains most from its destruction? (USA LNG sales) EU spineless
- the cover story was laughable - maybe Jake Sullivan or Obama's chef crafted it
- a larger swath of America has seen our nation's corruption and double standards. Trump officials taken down for administrative issues never before prosecuted; while the FBI, C-A, and DOJ spy on a presidential candidate, fabricate evidence, entrap innocent Americans, and when caught, file lawsuits to provide legal cover. It's all documented and has happened over & over again. Given 7+ years of corruption, while the Antifa & BLM Democrat foot soldiers burn & destroy America, many can no longer pretend to not see our Intelligence Community corruption

I tend to think this is most likely what people think it is - an ISIS attack as a result of decades of Russian attacks on Islamic people.

The simplest and most obvious answers are usually the most correct answers. Like you, I think the simplest answer is that ISIS found an opportunity to make headlines again, get publicity, and commit terror against a country they believe as an enemy to their world domination vision..
The simplest and most obvious answer is that the CIA and MI6 always have a back story that's designed to discredit "inconvenient truths," especially when they commit acts of terrorism.

After the U.S. destroyed the Nordstream pipelines -- and rather quickly after Seymour Hersh's insider account -- they came up with the rather implausible story about a band of Ukrainians on a yacht:

The fake counter-story raises doubt & diminishes the impact of the "inconvenient truth" in the critical days after the event. As time passes, sham Western "investigations" prove inconclusive, and the Western establishment NeoCons continue, time after time, to avoid any accountability for their crimes.

As I mentioned in a previous post, all 3 of the sham "investigations" of the Nordstream sabotage ended without coming to any conclusion, without naming a perpetrator, and without revealing the evidence gathered.

As I also pointed out weeks ago, Russia & China initiated a UN Security Council Resolution to investigate the Nordstream sabotage. The Resolution failed, with 14 members (all U.S. puppets) abstaining -- many of them citing the ongoing investigations by Germany, Denmark, and Sweden (which have concluded, with no findings).

There's still no evidence -- other than the CIA back story (which is pure heresay) -- to refute the Russian account. Instead of killing the gunmen on the spot, Russian investigators followed them to the Ukrainian border, while monitoring their communications.

Like I said -- they have all the phones for the gunmen, the 11 support people in Moscow, and the 40 people in Turkey. They've already traced the comms back to the Ukrainian intelligence HQ in Kyiv, and they've destroyed the building with a missile.

As many have pointed out, the alleged "ISIS terrorists" are clearly NOT Islamic fundamentalists. First, they're raising their Left fingers for the Shahadah, which no true Islamic fundamentalist would ever do. Then, their faces are blurred -- so they expected to survive (and enjoy their reported $5500 payout).



I'm guessing that there were no true ISIS warriors willing to lay down their lives as martyrs to help the U.S./NATO/CIA.

One of the more incriminating bits of circumstantial evidence, though, is John Kirby's flat denial of any Ukrainian involvement -- this while the concert hall was still in flames. Yes, focus on our fake ISIS terrorists! It's ISIS-K! It's ISIS-K!!!



I won't go into deep analysis of all these conspiracy theories.

I will just say this.

Either CIA is so incompetent that some rando on BI can find out about their secret activities, and therefore tje CIA doesn't really have the talents to do all the things you say they do or

they are in fact talented and some rando conspiracy theorist on BI Off Topic has no idea what they actually are doing.
It's amazing how many completely unproven things are just treated as gospel fact by these people now.

-Ukraine is run by NazisMany are now aware of Ukranian hero Banderas, the dozens of AZOV battalions, the Ukranian peace negotiator who was killed allegedly by AZOV types, the death-threat to Zelensky if the transvestite President pursues peace, and the country-wide & Military endemic fraud.

And so forth. Given the insane screed above, is it any wonder cbbass1 was the last guy to acknowledge that Russia had actually invaded Ukraine? Like, even as the tanks were rolling in he was still claiming that Putin wasn't going to invade. Hasn't shown any more humility on this topic since. It couldn't possibly be that HIS sources are wrong.
