Are Trump and his team doing these actions because they truly believe the Democrats cheated, or are they knowingly committing this fraud?
Of course not. The question is, how much of it is an actual crime vs just bad ethics. Democrats keep trying to conflate the two.

If promoting a conspiracy theory is now illegal, Hillary is going to jail too LOL.

For anyone who doesn't want to read the 98 page indictment, here's a high level summary of the factual claims.

Quote:

THE TRUMP RICO INDICTMENT
This is how the conspiracy played out according to the indictment:

Rudy then testifies to the GA House the following fabricated things: Video showed election workers stealing votes, Ruby Freeman was using USB ports to flip votes, 96,000 fraudulent mail-in ballots were counted. This was all made up.

Illinois pastor Stephen Lee is recruited to drive to Ruby Freeman's house in an attempt to coerce her into falsely confessing to fraud.

When Freeman refused to speak to Lee, he asked Harrison Floyd with Black Voices for Trump to help him. He said he thought Freeman wouldn't speak to him because he was white.

Lee, Harrison Floyd, and Kanye West publicist Trevian Kutti all make 11 different phone calls to Ruby Freeman. She won't talk to them.

Kutti then flies to GA from Chicago and drives to Freeman's house. She told the neighbor she was a "crisis manager" and was there to help her.

Kutti finally meets with Freeman for an hour and offers her "protection and help" if she will confess to fraud. She asks her to sign a statement that she committed fraud. She refuses.

I have a lot of respect for Ruby Freeman.

Wow, what backbone to not admit to a crime you didn't commit....

Since this forum full of "supposed" lawyers never seems to want to admit to it, here's a little beginner's primer for those of you with Trump Derangement Syndrome so you can learn the difference between an indictment and truth. For those of you with the attention span of a TikTok video, what's in an indictment is not necessarily truth. It's the enough of the prosecution's case, written with the prosecutor's bias, to convince a grand jury of probable cause. But since the defense attorney doesn't get to participate, you won't know until a trial whether the witness testimony stands up or not.

Quote:

Former New York Court of Appeals Judge Solomon Wachtler once famously remarked that a prosecutor can get a grand jury to "indict a ham sandwich," which isn't too far from the truth.

It's not that she had "the backbone to not admit to a crime (she) didn't commit", it's that she had "the backbone to resist the pressure" of a conspiracy "to commit a crime on behalf of a sitting President."

Also, what is the deal with calling out just "High School" teachers? Elementary school teachers teaching gender identity to 2nd graders and telling parents they are terrorists aren't trusted? WTH?

Technically, you're less mistrusted than journalists, not more trusted. I think it's much more than journalists have declined and rightly so.

High school teachers are up on the most trusted - they haven't been called out at all. Based on my experience, they should be that high. One of the more honorable professions (shout out Big C).

My profession appears to be too boring to be worth ranking. Don't worry though, limousine liberals - nothing you need be jealous of.

Biden's Banana Republic
Even if we accepted your premise that the GA charges against Trump were "purely political," we can count on The Donald to keep adding to the felony counts of witness tampering day by day, and week by week.

Amazing that he called himself "The Law & Order President!"

So -- let's do the traditional 'thought experiment' that's done in law school; Change One Thing:

Q: IF Obama (or Biden, or Harris) tried to STEAL AN ELECTION, or led a Conspiracy to STEAL AN ELECTION, would it be a crime? If so, what should the penalties be??

Fair point on Hillary -- she continued to blame her loss on the Russians, Comey, yada, yada.... anyone and everyone but herself, for running an extremely poor campaign.

What she didn't do was to blame GOP operatives in 'red' states for wiping thousands of presumably Democratic voters from the voter registration rolls. Republicans have done this in every state that they control since 2000, and they keep doing it more in every election cycle. Here's the article that predicted a Trump victory in August, 2016, because of this GOP cheating:
https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-features/the-gops-stealth-war-against-voters-247905/

The "Democratic" Party, despite promising to fix this with Voting Rights legislation, refused to do so, because their corporate donors don't want all those working-class Democrats voting. Despite controlling House, Senate, and White House, Biden & the Dems couldn't find the votes to prevent Republicans from suppressing Democratic votes. Nor were they willing to make an exception to the filibuster to fight voter suppression. Sad.

Along these lines, Stacey Abrams actually had a legitimate complaint. Her opponent in the governor's race in 2018, Brian Kemp, was the GA Secretary of State -- he was responsible for overseeing his own election. And in his position as SoS, he directed the purging of hundreds of thousands of likely Democratic voters from the voter registration rolls. And for those voters who were purged, he sat on 53,000 Democratic re-registration forms until after the election. His purported margin of "victory" was about 63,000 votes.

'Textbook voter suppression': Georgia's bitter election a battle years in the making

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/nov/10/georgia-election-recount-stacey-abrams-brian-kemp

Greg Palast, author of the Rolling Stone article (1st link) successfully sued to obtain the GA/Kemp purge list. Of the 400,000 GA voters who were purged because they had "moved", over 340,000 had not moved.

The U.S. Constitution does not guarantee U.S. Citizens the Right to Vote. So without Federal legislation to make this kind of voter purging illegal, it will continue.

And the Democrats will continue to prove that they would rather serve their donors, run unpopular corporate candidates, and lose elections, rather than Winning elections based on popular economic policies that help working Americans.

On this issue, Glenn Greenwald and Michael Schellenberger should be ashamed of themselves for equating Trump's complaints about his 2020 Loss with Stacey Abrams' protest of the election stolen from her -- by her opponent, SoS Brian Kemp -- in 2018.

Q: IF Obama (or Biden, or Harris) tried to STEAL AN ELECTION, or led a Conspiracy to STEAL AN ELECTION, would it be a crime? If so, what should the penalties be??

Decertify the election.
Biden is illegitimate.
And he's also a crook.
Impeach Biden.

Yes, but I still want The Defendant (in chief) to smile for his mugshot so I can appropriate it for my profile photo. I call first dibs IF The Defendant smiles ....

Edit: Crazy, but I just completely reversed my position. Now, I call first dibs on his mugshot only if he doesn't smile .... Let the "America First" Republicans on this site use his stupid mugshot if he smiles.
