If Trump were to avoid debating Harris, I bet he would change his mind when people started showing up at his events dressed in chicken costumes. Just flood the media with chicken videos, lots of clucking, he'd agree to a debate within a week. Surprising, because his image is that of a detached, intellectual policy-wonk, but it'd work!
