That's the other thread. So Goggles - should we deport? Yes, right? He's here illegally. He voted illegally. He tried to get benefits. That's fraud.

Deport, right? Please just say yes.
LOL.

Can you provide a link for the alleged illegal voter? I did a quick search and couldn't find anything.

Happy to answer your question when I know what is being reported.

I love how Roevember and others are constantly posting Twitter posts, justifying their vote. See! She shoved Joe out of the way and look what happened! As if any of them cared or predicted this.

This is interesting to me because I can't get one of them to admit anything about Project 2025. I can't get 003 to admit that Kamala has legal recourse to remand the electoral college counts back to state legislatures.

I don't mind the football being spiked but at least own what got you the W.

I looked back to see what you asked. I suppose as VP Kamala has a role in the vote certification process. I don't know why it is relevant nor why you are making a big deal out of it.

lol has a role. I'm sure you know what MAGA and Trump's constitutional argument was with regard to the certification process. John Eastman stated that Pence had constitutional authority to not certify the results of the electoral college and revert back to the states for review. Basically saying that Pence had the authority to decertify the election.

So, I once again ask you, since you're MAGA and you felt there was widespread voter fraud (lol) in 2020, does Harris have the constitutional authority to stop the steal and remand the electoral college results to the states for further review? Doesn't get any simpler than that.

I am completely unaware of any stealing going on during the 2024 election and therefore do not understand the relevance of your statements. Trump won in a landslide. I am not Maga and did not vote for Trump. I don't like Kamala for reasons previously stated. Is there anything else you are completely mixed up on that I can clarify?

That is an absolute outlier. His father was US citizen so it seems odd that he's not a citizen per birth right. It seems he might be but is having a hard time proving it.

To answer your question, I think he should be able to litigate his claimed citizenship. He should not vote going forward unless/until he found to be a citizen - if he does it would be a crime and should be charged as such.

In terms of past voting, to the extent the statute of limitations does not apply, I suppose he could be charged if it is a crime. It is unclear to me if it is - I don't know if the criminal statute requires that he "know" he wasn't a citizen (most, but not all, crimes do require what is referred to as "mens rea"). Under these circumstances, I doubt any prosecutor would pursue that case.

In terms of deporting him, let him have his day in court. And then let's put him in line behind all of the more recent people who knowingly and intentionally illegally crossed the border or made bogus asylum claims. Criminals first, then let's work backwards in time.

To the larger point, for you to cite this case - again a complete outlier - and analogize it to people who have illegally crossed the border in the last 4 years is just absurd. But carry on.

Show me where I ever said nuance doesn't matter. A guy born to an American father who lived in the US for 50-60 years (and who moved here legally with his family) has no resemblance to person crossing the border illegally in the past 4 years or a person making a questionable asylum claim.

At most, the Florida dude is analogous to a DACA situation . . . and personally I'm in favor of letting DACA people stay in the US generally speaking (as are most Americans).

Your drawing a connection between two completely disparate circumstances reveals more TDS. The election has broken your ability to reason.

No, not exactly.

What else is a Socialist going to say?

D's did plenty of stuff purportedly to help the working class. 70% of people said the economy was bad and we are headed in the wrong direction. Official economic reports to the contrary, they didn't perceive the measures worked. It was time for a change.

If we change the question to be "undemocratic" and "beholden to their oligarchs" (instead of an economic class question), then yes, I agree with that. Going back to rigging the process for HRC vs Bern up through executing a coup against a sitting President, the D party is politically corrupt in a way that works against working class people.

Purportedly.
Is that like "reportedly"?
Or is it like "People are saying…"
And so therefore it IS.
Right? is that how that works?

-misinformation police

Secondly, "they didn't perceive the measures worked"
Maybe that's because "the media" constantly tells people (Fox) that the economy is not bad and that inflation is crushing, or contrarily, continues to ask people (CNN, even MSNBC) how they are feeling about inflation.

In summary, what we've (at least, I've) learned here in these Trump years (decade) is that people (voters) can be totally manipulated. They can be directed towards issues ("trans athletes is a scourge upon society") and their anxiety levels (fear) can be totally revved up.

Republicans have done a better job of that. I mean, what is more tangible to fear? A caravan of immigrants who don't look like you or speak your language and who are demonized as bringing drugs, diseases, are murderers, rapists, and thieves
OR
"Democracy"?

This is why I return to Nazi propaganda. They demonized "the others". It worked - until it didn't.

We'll see how this next era goes.
If it goes to sh:t, don't say we didn't say it would.

It is going to be pure tragic-comedy gold watching Trump make maneuvers to assure that the hands of government are forever placed in the hands of:
A) himself
B) his children
C) his puppet(s)
D) corrupt billionaire elites
E) Putin

Actually, not true.
Carville suggested it was because Kamala said she wouldn't change any of Biden's policies.
Many have blamed Biden for hubris, trying to hold on too long (past his initial "I'll be a transitional President" statement.

And Morning Joe Scarborough suggested it was because she wasn't a 6'4" white male who liked to watch football and drink beer with the guys.

I'm going with C, Joe, all the way on this one.

I do find this amusing because I made the same case in 2020 when 74.2 million people voted for Trump, but the media and many liberals where I live kept saying nobody wanted Trump. I suppose the hashtag #notmypresident will be returning then?

By the way, does no one find it odd that Harris is missing nearly 8 million votes that went to Biden in 2020? Where did those go? And oddity #2, the only states Harris won required no voter ID. Very strange indeed.

This rant is interesting in that the only demographic where Harris gained over Biden was affluent white people.

Women, blacks, Hispanics, young people- Trump did better with all these than Biden did, four years ago.

Harris was an affluent white man candidate- the provincial BI demographic

I was curious what things looked like outside of California and New York and was surprised by result. I knew it would have a big effect, but without them, Trump won the popular vote by 6.8 million. In 2020 Biden and Trump were essentially tied without these two. That happened because of the 8 million + votes the Democrats 'lost' in 2024, 7.1 million were in CA and NY. The pro Trump impact of Texas and Florida was substantially less.

Have no idea what this means; maybe less focus on the 'sure' states. I guess without the electoral college the campaigning would basically happen in CA, NY, FL and TX

There is a decent amount of info out there indicating this is not about race and misogyny.

There's a recent NY Times article where they interviewed young voters who switched to Trump. General theme - the economy, Trump represents "normalcy" (ie, D's are too extreme), etc. Basically the stuff non-D's have been pointing to here.

The latest Youguv poll (by Rasmussen?) was pretty fascinating. D's generally perceived the economy as good; Independents and R's were exactly the opposite. Voting trended toward following that answer.

Personally, my takeaway is I honestly question the true voter support for the Democrats current platform. I don't understand how so many supposed voters for Harris just disappeared from 2020. Moreover, the fact that the majority of the Democratic support came from states without voter ID laws is concerning. To me, that implies the current 73 million Harris vote tally is likely somewhat inflated.
